Pics of my Dana 60 14BFF Install

Few more pics. All of these are cell phone pics so the resolution is horrible. I took a couple of shots of where my collectors came out. They are right where I hoped they would be. They changed a little with the gaskets and torqued to spec but not much.

I am about to get to a point where some of this stuff is going to start going faster. To the best of my memory.....I have all the parts. I might be missing a fitting or two....but for the most part....everything is sitting on the shelf to finish it. I just need some time.

Later,
John

Wow, unbelievable, hope thing in your life get better soon. Don't worry about us here, take care of your wife. Hope they can find something that will help when you go to the Mayo clinic. Will pray for ya'll.

Work looks great on the carb and headers . I know it probably feels good to just to get out and work on it.

So very sorry to hear about your wife. I sincerely hope the Mayo Clinic can figure out what the issue is, and do something about it.

I imagine that working on your Suburban is like a little escape from life for a brief time. While we all appreciate you sharing your awesome build with us, take care of your wife. We will all be here when you get time to post some more of your work.

Thoughts and prayers go out for you and your wife.

So sorry to hear about you wife... my thoughts are with you guys.

I don`t think anyone that has read you thread will ever lose interest in it.
Take your time man,and thanks for the update.

Man thats really what i was hoping not not hear. Im so sorry man. Thanks for letting us know what was going on. Seriously though, I really hoped you would come back just saying that you been a little busy and pre-occupied with other fun stuff. Not a story of how sucky things have been. I just feel for you! I wish i could help you out somehow! Moreover, I REALLY hope that something can be done to ease your wifes suffering. Thats got to be very rough for the both of you. Just hope things start looking up for you. Like the others have said, dont worry about taking time to update us. We arnt as important as your wife is. All that being said, Good work on the truck! It really does look amazing as always!

Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your wife. Thanks for the update, was more concerned about you and your family than the truck at this point...

Very sorry to hear about your wife. I wish you both the best and I hope she feels better and they find a way to heal her.

And excellent work on the burb by the way. We always look forward to hearing from you,but it definitelly sucks the fun out of it with news like that. I hope your wife will get well soon.

Thanks for all the kind words and prayers. It REALLY means alot to me. I stay so busy that I really don't have alot of time to dwell on the downside of things. Something like this really puts things in perspective that's for sure. I am slowly learning to take things one day at a time. It sounds easy.....but when you have a type AA personality and a perfectionist mentality...it is hard to do. None of the things we have mean anything if you don't feel well enough to enjoy them. I would trade everything I own for her to feel better. Better yet, I pray that I could just trade places with her. There is nothing any worse than not having ANY control over something like this. Maybe they can come up with a better treatment plan for her so that she can get some quality of life back again. Hopefully, I can work on the burb some more this weekend. I really want to get the rest of the fuel system plumbed and the the tank reinstalled next.

Thanks Guys!
John

Thoughts and prayers for you and your wife. Very sorry to hear the news. I hope she can get something to ease her pain. Take care.

Holy Shat John, prayers headed your way for all of your family....what a trying experience your going through. Like you said you don't know how good you got it til its gone. Hope the best for the wife man....toys are pretty imaterial when stuff like this happens.

I never could find a 4X4 style convertor cover to fit the 4L80E that would clear the one piece rear main on the 572. So, I ended up machining about a 1/2" around where the rear main is on my old cover. I cleaned it, painted it and installed all new grade 10.9 Metric hardware. Here are a couple of pics.

I'm coming down the frame with the #10 fuel line headed toward the tank. I just mounted the filter. Nothing like a fuel line the size of your thumb for good economy. :D

Ok, I got to work a little bit tonight. I swear, little thinks just eat your time up. I spent over two hours installing the tranny fill tube and dipstick. Note to self install that on the tranny and install it all at the same time with a 572.

I got the old fuel tank, filler neck, vent and straps cleaned and painted. I also got all new filler neck line, vent line, etc, etc from LMC. All I need to do is install my #10 pickup in the tank and it is ready to go back up.

I also put 9 qts of synthetic fluid in the tranny and i got 2 in the convertor before I installed it so I have 11 qts in. That was enough to get it to the fill line. Once I can crank it, I will feed it probably another 10 qts as the converter finishes filling and the cooler and lines. I am going to get to work on it tomorrow and then I have to pack and do some house chores on Sunday and then it is off to the Mayo Clinic early Monday morning. Here are a few update pics.
