Thanks man.

They are not white. They are kind of silver colored. I love it. The best part is when you cut the lights on and you have all that nice soft glowing red.

OK, was wondering I'm getting a set of Autometer phantoms. Looking forward to them!

Well, I am going to need a big brake kit. I have never had a new set of perfectly functioning 1 tons with 37's fade out on me. I went and put another 20 gals of gas in it and I finally said phuck it nailed it at about 25mph. I hit 90 in a heartbeat. I was hauling azz with open headers and I topped a hill and a guy was stopped turning left waiting on oncoming traffic. It slowed down pretty quickly to 50 and then started to fade out. I got it stopped but I was about out of brakes and it was not a vacuum issue. It has way more motor than it has brakes. That was an eye opener. I shouldn't have stayed in it that long but all it took was just a few seconds and it felt so damn good! I know it sounds stupid but it was a HUGE rush for something that big and heavy to take off like that. It is definately going to surprise some people when I get the exhaust installed. I won't be doing that again unless no one is around and I am on the interstate.:D

time for some rear discs...

and hydro boost upgrade .

these 2 can lock up tires quickly .

i know with my 1ton and 38" tsl on it i could lock up all 4 real easy and stop on a dime and get change back.

also over the counter parts grab napa severe duty pads. thay self cut rotors down there so agressive.

yup, hydro for sure.. i'd have to guess the vac capability on that nasty mill is borderline to begin with for a booster..

Ive got plenty of vacuum believe it or not, that's one of several reasons that I had a custom built cam made for mill. I dont think that rear disks will make any difference compared to having brand new drums and pads properly adjusted that have never had mud in them. The rear drums actually work well before you fill them with mud. The problem is the speed. I can lock up the brakes at lower speeds....but 90 and 100mph is a totally different ballgame. Im not trying to be a smartazz, but run those 38s up to 90 and get down on them in a panic stop, hydroboost will fade out too. I have been through the same thing on my dually running big rig wheels and tires with 10 lug adapters. The weight and the speed combined with the fact that the stock design was NEVER meant to panick stop at that kind of speed is the issue. My dually is turned up and will haul azz. I had the same problem with it and it has hydroboost.

On my dually, I changed the lines, rotors (cross drilled and slotted) ceramic pads and SSBC 3 piston calipers all the way around and I finally got enough brakes on the truck without going up in diameter on rotors.

The best thing for me to do is to not do much of that any more to put myself in that situation. There are many other factors other than the brakes to drive this bus that fast or faster. I think the best thing is to not tromp on it if I can't see substantially in front of me and have another lane available. After I get the exhaust done when I recover from my surgery and really test everything in all conditions....if that is the only issue I have I might look into rotors, pads, better calipers for the front. Since I went with 16" diameter wheels, I can't go up on rotor size. I found out today that even in this heavy of a vehicle, it has enough power to get you in trouble pretty quick if you are not paying attention.

I guess what I am trying to say is that the problem was me today. None of this stuff is designed for panic stops at that kind of speed.:eek1:

Good call Thunder... speed kills!:D

Congrats on the road test, didn`t think you would get that done before you went under the knife. Very cool!:thumb:

Got any burn out pics coming out of the garage?

Thanks brotha! I have been trying to knock out some little items on my punch list. I can do small stuff....just nothing heavy right now. I finally got my speedometer calibrated and working this evening and it is right on the money according to my standalone GPS. I gave up on trying to make the speed sensor on the TC case work so I tapped into the rear output sensor on the transmission. I dont know if my TC case sensor has gone bad or it is not compatible or what.....but I tried every conceivable way to hook it up and I could not get it to work. The only downside that I see picking it up at the transmission is that the speedo will not be correct when you are in low range. The truck will think it is going faster than it is. That really doesnt make any difference to me. It will overstate the total milage on the head unit depending on how much low range wheeling I do relative to driving in high range. It is a non issue for me. I really want to get the exhaust finished. I wish I could finish the exhaust before my surgery because it is a BLAST to drive. Unfortunately, its not in the cards. I am just glad that I have gotten as far as I have. I am saving the burnout and really wringing the hell out of it until I get my oxygen sensors installed when the exhaust goes in so that I know that the tune is safe using my wideband AFR on both banks. It's pretty damn close based on the plug readings I have taken. I will probably be a little fat when I get the exhaust on it. When it get the exhaust rapped up and the final tune dialed in, I will get someone else on the video camera and roll smoke. :D

Just awesome. Glad you got to drive it.

A bad azz Burb that hauls azz, I'm not sure I could think of anything sexier. I can only imagine how it sounds accelerating to 90 mph.

Well, I survived. Since this thread has gone all over the place, I thought I would share a pic of my back after I got the pumps out. Its about a 14" incision (Chix dig scars) and I have all new titanium rods, screws, and cages.....along with some wire mesh and cadaver bone. I was in surgery for 9 hours and the Doc spent a solid 2 hours cutting scar tissue out from around my nerves. I feel like a filet O fish :D

Damn, hope all goes well for you on your recovery.
I have seen first hand what you may be going through. A good friend of mine went through that a year ago and is doing real good now, hope the same for you.

wow, thought my back was fubar'd... hope that heals quick for ya!
