Pictures of rigs with stock steel wheels and hub caps.

Not stock, but they are steel...

I'll get pictures of mine when I get home, all 99% stock 86 K5 Custom Deluxe.

Sorta lousy photo, but this is my 3/4 ton 85 Burb I just bought. Unfortunately for me, I don't care for these caps at all.

86 K5 Custom Deluxe Blazer, Factory steel wheels, truck did not have hubcaps from factory, but I bought some for it.

I didn't know you have a corvair van. Cool.

Oh, yeah…it’s a cool little van, 1963 Corvan. Corvan’s are basically base models with no options other than this one has a chrome factory tissue holder and cig lighter (Greenbrier’s were the top of the line). My dad traded a '67 C10 for it back in the late 70’s/early 80’s and was his toy for decades. When my dad passed in 2010 the mystery machine came to live with us. I have the engine out of it now to do a complete reseal as ALL Corvair engines leak oil. Fortunately, modern sealing technology gaskets and seals exists for these old engines due to them being so popular with the ultralight aircraft hobbyist. EFI kits can even be bought for the old Corvair engines thanks to the aircraft hobbyists too.

Speaking of steel wheels and hubcaps…. I’m looking for a set of Corvair hubcaps for it. If anybody has a lead let me know. Other than the hubcaps, it is all there and everything works. Plan to return it to original with white paint/orange stripe.

Larry it looks like your Suburban is my Blazer's big brother, White, white steel wheels, super swampers.

I have a problem.

Eight 16.5x6.75" GM wheels, and four 16.5x6.5" GM wheels.

Dropped off at the body shop for paint.

Well here's another picture from that spot.

I honestly did not know it was that flexed.
(Also, super swampers are absolutely useless in the snow, who'd of thought?)

It says it right in the name.... SWAMP er, not SNOW er. :D

Large, flat tread blocks just float on top of the snow. This makes for very poor grip, especially on iced down or hard packed snow. In addition to that, a wide, oversize tire will also float on top of the snow. Small, pliable tread blocks (like an A/T tire) grip the hardpack snow/ice like a bunch of little fingers providing much better traction and stability. And a thin tire would concentrate the vehicles weight which helps that traction. This is applicaple to daily/street driven vehicles, not those taking their 4x4 off trail through 4' of fresh powder where you want the truck to stay on top.

You gotta rock them super skinnies in the winter. Last winter the only time I put it in 4 wheel was to dart across traffic.

Stew you have no idea how much I want your truck, I would kill for a decent crewcab in this bodystyle, especially one from the early 90's with a TBI 454.

The neighbors weren't sold on this setup, not sure why.
I had my 33x9.50's, but traded them for these basically brand new 31x10.50 super swampers.

(if your wondering, I only own one set of wheels that fit these things)
