PLOW MACHINE / sleeping quietly : 237 6 shifter levers !

That's cool. I think anyone here should like the busy tractor look..
Just slip one of them into the wrong position and I bet no one can steal it.
I saw a guy in Moab with a K5 with an SM465 trans that he added another SM465 out of a dump truck(larger input shaft) behind it and then a 205 tcase. Just like a brownie in a semi but not quite. Itty bitty rear cv drive shaft that looked like the joints were maxed at ride height and a long ass front one with a carrier bearing.

I have thought about dual 465s alot. I thought it would be way cool

If you had the wheel base imagine low/low plus a doubler in low/low also. Prob way to slow and you would have way too many gear options. I want a little Eaton 8 speed. I can't remember the model number but I saw a pretty small older one in a medium duty. The Eaton 6 speeds are cool too but not very low geared for big trucks. My brother-in-law has a zf-5 with a gear vendor and he changed the gear ratios to use it like a 10 speed. Only useful in 2 wd though as it's after the tcase.

if i entered this all right . . .

say there was a early nv4500 feeding the 203/203/205 combo + 5.38 gears + 44" tires . low low low low = 136:1 :confused1:

i got a friend who is planning a 6l90-e/203/205 combo with just 4.56 gears and 35" tires . thats 72.04 but x2 for the auto factor and gets 144.08:1 low o_0:eek2::confused1:

I remember years ago there was a guy in top truck challenge with an M-37 dodge. Had a TH400 driving through an SM465 then through a 205. Pretty cool concept I always thought

A buddy of mine growing up, his dad had an old tractor that had a small block and auto trans out of a Vega hooked to the tractor trans somehow. You put it in drive and then picked a gear and went.

well the air cleaner showed up today . 80's tall hat for the 5" tall filter . come off a 454 as per the emissions tag on it. its currently on a 1-1.5" tall spacer as i need to clearance it just a tad on the bottom side for the holley sniper unit. DONT BUY THE SNIPER ! ! !

and my brain is fryed for the night . . . .

darn linkage for the lokar i cant find the sweet spot for every gear to line up on both the trans and shifter . i took some of these pics and fired off a email to lokar tech help .

0601171535b.jpgtook there bell crank kit and cut off the mount and made my own since its all custom in here .

0601172232a.jpg these pics are of the system in neutral .

if i set it for perfect park / neutral then i dont get 1st on the lokar . if i set it for 1-2-3-d i get o.k. neutral but no park as it skips in the trans .
.
. i think my bell crank mount is to high . . . and might need to come down a bit .
.
.

It's got the man charistics that every build needs. Reg cab long box and a big block.

wow  those guys at lokar tech help are fast . i sent the emails after 11pm last night . and today just after 12pmish i had a reply back with 2 tips and otherwise said with the pics i sent i should be good if i tweek the 2 things they said .

so i will try and get them done and report back with results .

well 1 of the things they said was from the looks of my setup and its needs i should try 1 spline jump back to the 4-oclock position away from the 5-oclock for the quad arm / selector arm .

i did this and changed the rods around for the new lengths needed and did some tweeking and its TONS better in the shifting . i can pop the hiem off the bell crank spot in every gear now and i get park-1st .

i think with just a hair bit more rod length adjustment on the upper rod shifter to bell crank pivot i can make it about dead perfect.

its amazing how much 1 little jump made on the shifter arm . crazy part is i had already played with it before but just didnt get the right combo . but showing them at lokar they know just what i needed . and its so good to get fast tech help unlike lots of other places these days .

I like those valve covers, I'm curious if they'll fit the rockers... What brake/brake booster are you planning to run?
