PLOW MACHINE / sleeping quietly : 237 6 shifter levers !

like night and day .

old 6 leaf ??? brand lift springs in the front I got used from a friend years ago .

then original 79 1ton 9 leaf with overload rear 56 with severe rust build up acting like sand paper to not flex out for even just driving and the main leaf was bent on both at each eye from overloading at some point.

now 3" hd tuff country front and oem 2600lb light weight spec packs for rear 8 leaf all new and still running ord 4" flip kit. but I moved the flip ahead just a tad for tiny bit better shackle angle.

yes I have made good money plowing with the old girl over the years . she just plows and keeps going . I have a gov-loc in the rear that works great . front dana 60 is open .

got some :sign11:

ruffstuff specialtys 14ff diff cover . blasted & powder coated chrome/silver color . just a bit of fancy on a ugly rusty truck . :haha:

plow season just around the corner . . ..

need ballast weight for plow truck . so I remembered I had a I-beam . . .

9ft long x 15inch hight x 5.5inch width x .50 thick. online charts show it around 450 lbs :eek1:

going to cut it in 4.5ft length then weld it together side by side and fill center with concrete . will add few d-ring tie downs on it to have good secure strap locations to hold it in the bed of the truck good.

plan to be in the 600-800 lbs range when done . also wana keep it to aa engine hoist pick out and load in truck if at all possible.

according to online weight calc for concrete if I fill in the center section when built that will add in 600-700 lbs extra . :eek1::doah:

think I will try no fill first with just the I-beam its self . .

:haha:

got 2 scrap yards in town and lots of old and current rails we have a full yard 1 town over from me . got few friends in the buiss so maybe I could get some.

well today was fun :whistle::popcorn:

taking load #2 up to new shop from my old single garage .

driving along and BANG - puff - puff - puff - puff . . . . . . . vac gauge bouncing all over the place running like crap .

so I pulled over and pop the hood . found #7 plug was bad . :dunno: bad you say ? ?

metal rusted down so far the porcelain center all come out and still clipped in to the plug wire. had to hammer a 14mm socket on the rusted out body and it come right out .

got a new plug for it to limp by till done moving then it will be the rest of the others get changed before plow season starts .

1 plug out the vac gauge was bouncing 7-8" vac up/down like crazy :haha:

I will post a pic when I get home from work .
