PLOW MACHINE / sleeping quietly : 237 6 shifter levers !

so used twin stick shifter from member here will be modified to combine with my 3 stick shifter already in place .

then the reason for the 2 extra sticks . . . pto on 205 to run a hydro pump to feed a hydro winch in the back bumper.

so lever 1 will be pto in/out and then lever 2 will be winch in/out .

so it should get real funky up in the cab with 6 sticks up threw the floor.:doah::burnout:

have not got the pump yet . found a good selection on ebay in the 15-18gpm range I need to make the winch work as speced out from them .

Ok, what about the PTO? Where does that come from.
Who is the Manufacturer for that?

update : there will be 1 addition to the truck that will take it over the top for the look I am going for . .

I just have to load it up on the flatbed tow truck and make the delivery to my shop with it .

its going to be epic . . . . I don't recall anyone here doing one of these items I am bringing home for it . 1 member had pics of his from back in the day that was it .

@beags86 sorry didn't notice you asked a question . . .

pto unit there is a few makers of them and lots of options for them . they are specific to tranny or transfer case . . and also left or right side pto port . . . and front or back output along with output style .

C'mon you can't just leave us hanging with that!

well since my good buddy finaly guessed it and now i can at least tell you guys . . . since he watches my threads and it would have been a give away .

I scored a HOLMES 480 split boom twin line wrecker unit . real nice shape and even has a full body for it . its off the truck in this pic we parted out at work to use the 4x4 parts under a newer truck .

my plan is remove it from the body and have just the boom unit and make it clip in to DIY4X kits goose neck hitch and 2 more massive points I will add in up in the front of the box . this way I can have it pop in/out when not needed with just a few pins .

I will fab in some point on the custom bumper I am building to let the sling arms pivot points clip in also for full function .

its going to make the look of this truck KILLER .

how I wana pop it out of bed .

and then in box mounted like this truck but I am not doing stepside.

truck it come off of .

dug out the heart for this old girl today .

1978 454/781 large oval port heads . needs full gasket set / cam / intake I have for it / new oil pump / timing chain set / few other goodys.

scored this engine in a suburban I got and drove it home to part out . ran great other than flat exhaust lobes on a few of them .

today was a BIG day in the shop . . . it was all me / my self and I . . ..

truck moved over to the lift bay . then cab/front clip unbolted from frame and lifted all the way up as 1 unit . then rolled the frame ahead and tried to set in the 454-BBC but no go . I have NON-BBC frame/engine ear's so I had to mark and drill 3 new holes per ear and then she went on . I used BBC motor clamb shell brackets with brace rod plates . then stock clamb shell mounts with energy suspension inserts also BBC parts .

then I hooked up the 4L80-e & 203/205 combo and dropped her in the frame and bolted it up to the engine . when it was all said and done it fit real good .

now to fab up a pair of mounts for the doubler to sit on . then redo the triple stick shifter mount and make it a 5 lever unit . 2 on the left 3 on the right . stuff is going to be crazy up in there.

also got my ord bolt in steering box brace kit on . looked at how the BBC ord engine crossmember is going to fit with the fisher plow frame right next to it on the left side.

I have some cash saved to buy the BIG money item for the motor . . . . comp cams k11-413-8 cam kit . . . and I have a set of full roller rockers already for a 454 I got from a member here YEARS ago oh man so many I forgot who .

still need to get the www.usshift.com trans controller and ether a fitech efi or holley sniper setup .

front drive shaqft should be in the 37-38" length with a flange on the 205 output and u-bolt yoke 1410 at the 60 front .

rear shaft should be in the 55" range with a flat flange and 1410 u-bolt yoke on the 14ff rear .

axles will be rolling under next from a parted out project . 5.13 Yukon gears and ARB air lockers both .

I feel so good today even with the set backs I had to just plow threw . now if I could just get the pics off my sd card from my phone . but here is a few I got with my old Kodak easy share camera.

basic of the truck now with STIFF 4" fronts ( just for roller duty ) going 2-3" range in front . she is on 28.4" tall roller tires .

engine don't look like much in pic but I drove it home years ago for 600 bucks with 60kish miles and a flat cam . plus all the oil leaks from the valve cover gaskets .

triple stick up in the cab for now.

mag-hytec pan on a 4L80-e .

more pics of what I did . finally got them off my phone .

cab/front clip up up and out of the way . . .

used both engine hoists 1 for the motor in and held up . then other with assembled 4L80-e 203/205 combo and lined up and bolted to engine.

then cab & clip back on the frame.

also picked this up today local buy guy had and never used . . . . from 20 years ago he said . 2" skyjacker soft ride springs and 52" half ton rears & shocks and bushings & u-bolts . I got it just for the front springs to see is the 2" is were I need to be over the super stiff 4" I have in there now. then if I don't use them I will sell the whole kit here or just the left overs if I use the fronts.

so I installed them in the front today .........

oh they fit they sit good . but way to much weight on them for long term life span for my needs . and then if I hung a plow on the front oh man they would be dead .

so looks like with all my testing and measurements I have boiled it down to a set of 2" tuff country hd fronts . I have 3" hd in the front of my other truck with a small block and its good . but the end hight I am shooting for I wana stay under the 3" at max lift hight . just waiting on some feedback from Stephen @ ord when he gets back from his trip .
