Possible carb problems dying while driving, any ideas?

Well I'll be bird hunting all today so I haven't tried anything but clearing the flood according to the owners manual. I had it for a week before it decided not to start. Tomorrow I'll get an actual chance to try all you guys' solutions.

Tomorrow has come and gone. Any luck?

How 'bout asking your friends dad to come over and take a look? It's a lot easier to handle stuff like this in person.

Sorry it's been awhile. I was changing out my fuel pump and apparently my push rod is stuck. Well damn I figure that's a pretty expensive fix.

If you mean the fuel pump push rod, it should be pretty cheap. You might have to replace the fuel pump if the rod got caught and jammed on the pump.

The Chief just went through all this, starting about here.

Like I told him, Rockauto has them for just a couple of bucks.

It's not stuck. Did you take the block off plate off, or just the fuel pump? Is your block old enough to have the set screw?

Check out Colby's Nevada blazer build, he had pretty good success running 33's with no trimming or lift.

I'm probably going to wait and put some 35's on once I lift it. Should I go with a 6 inch? And would I have to replace axles and get new gears if I put 35's on?

Oh the problem was a fuel line that was cracked. I replaced the fuel pump before I realized that was the problem

How rusty are your body mounts? I would recommend a 1" body lift, and a set of new body mounts. Then throw a set of 3 pack front leaf springs and a 1" zero rate on the front, and a set of 2" lift blocks on the rear. You can clear 33's easily with that setup. I had 37's on my 1988 V10 Suburban with that combination, and some slight trimming.

Your suburban looks good. Wish I had access to a shop like that haha. I'll be doing everything ghetto style!

Ha, which shop? I have worked on it at two different Interstate Power Systems shops, a independent shop I use to work at, my buddies shop, and the quonset here at my house.

It is a rusty ugly pos, but fairly decent mechanically. I need to get around to shoving my Dana 60 under it. I just think it is a good example of very minimal lift, and decent sized tires.

Well I forgot to mention that while she starts really good and runs good when I get up to 35-40 she dies. A few people told me it was the carb running rich but idk, the exhaust is really strong If that's any indication of running rich. I can't get it In to a shop until Friday and it will stay until Tuesday-whenever the hell they finish. Any chance you guys think you could help me diagnose, I'd rather do it myself for experience plus I was planning on going mudding this weekend! :D
