Potent Rodent

New built engine, EFI, 4L80 transmission, t-case, brakes, hydroboost, tires/wheels and more!
Wow, scrolling through the pics and stuff. 1) I am guessing this is before Tom Nelson started using symmetrical/opposite turbo's. 2) At $5000, Nelson is very proud of their turbo headers!!
Yeah, I think Nelson is charging $40k for the same engine. Those symmetrical turbos are great if you have OCD but standard turbos get the job done and much cheaper.

2WD wheel stands seem imminent.

My old tires will probably just burn up in smoke. Be interesting how much boost I can build holding the brakes on the line. Can even try to play with the ECU's launch control.

Did I miss this turbo idea? Damn saweeet!!
The only replacement for displacement is booooost!
Engine was built for boost. Decided to go for adding the snails now instead of waiting till next year. Twin T67 turbos is the top candidate turbo right now. Theres better turbos out there but they cost twice as much. Going to order soon.

This build is sweet, I'll be watching. Be careful, I've read the 60-2 wheel is to thin to use with high hp levels, it can flex or move and cause catastrophic signal issues at high RPM/hp. You might want too look at the 36-1 wheel.

I had to make a custom crank target wheel because I want to run an 8" ATI balancer with my large stroke in the regal but no one makes the 36-1 for 8" balancer wheel, so I made one. (My new block is Mark IV, can't run the internal unit)

One option you have is to run an electric water pump, one of those might clear and from up some ponies too. My Mezeire unit cleared.

@folkenheath has been whispering in my ear for months that I should convert to a DIS system on my 502.....

It would certainly resolve all of my distributor-to-firewall clearance issues, but from the looks of things... it might create new waterpump-to-cranktrigger ones up front!!!!

Greg that isn't the case with the Gen6 big block kit, the crank trigger is inside the timing cover, no issues there.

You would just need to either turn 1/8" off the balancer snout or space the accessories out 1/8" since the crank trigger sandwiches between the balancer and crank sprocket . Trimming the balancer would be the cleaner option.

Sorry the delay. Had to plan a wedding but got back in the swing of things. Got the engine and 4L80 installed. Need to figure out how my twin sticks are going fit in the current t-case hole. They are 4" too far back. Also replaced the old bent BDS springs in the back with new Tuff Country springs

i made my own shifter bracket setup for my 4l80-e combo with ord parts to start off with .

click plow machine link below in sig line. post 237 is the start of the shifter setup i did . it gets grazy fun trust me . but was easy to make .

I like how you did that! Nice work! I may go with a NP205 cable shifter to make things easier plus it can be mounted anywhere. The 4L80 is being shifted through a Winters gate shifter (cable).

Ended up ordering the JB Custom Fab twin stick cable shifter and will be selling the old twin stick shifter. This way I can mount it where I want.

Was thinking about making a shifter console in front of the Tuffy similar to this but not as high. Mount both Winters 4L80 shifter and the twinstick there.

Anyone else have some ideas on shifter console design?

He makes good stuff. I just ordered a set from him myself for the same reason. My truck didn't have a tcase from the factory so I don't even have the hole in the tunnel for factory type shifters anyway.

Good to hear.

I found an affordable console from a 2015 F150 that I may try to retrofit both shifters in.

I built this simple shifter/cupholder mount and attached to my console. The only changes I might make in the future is to shorten up the shifter handle a few inches, and maybe go with the rock crawler gates. Other than that, I think it's perfect for me. My hand fall nicely onto the shifter, no having to reach or anything.

Can't see the pic. Can you upload it here on CK5?

Yep can see it now. Thanks! That's about where I want my shifter. I was looking to build something in front of the Tuffy but I think the F150 console might make it easier. Just need to hack the stock shifter hole and cup holders to fit both shifters

The F150 console looks promising for sure. I'm interested to see what you come up with! I did end up bracing my shifter mount later to gain some rigidity. I dunno how strong the F-150 console is, hopefully firmer than a K5 console though.
