power steering out of alignment

alright, got the pulley all the way on...spins true.

here you can see i swapped the washers to the back, all it seem to do was bring the right side of the pump closer to the bracket, but didn`t seem to straighten it out, at least not a noticeable amount

Right now you need to figure out why the pump and bracket aren't parallel with one another. Once you figure that out it will line up correctly.

And this is better than stock brackets?

I assume the bottom of the bracket(s) mount to the block somewhere, i.e. it's not just the two bolts on the water pump, right?

I`m assuming its that bracket on the lower water pump mount, at least I`m hoping...I`ll pull it off next time I`m out there....

FWIW, I think I may have bent the bracket in question, when I was trying to remove a bolt from the back of the pump....

I`ll try and find a pic of the brackets....

I would say you have the wrong Water pump then, try putting a couple washers behind it there and see if it straightens it out.

Does the pump have flare fitting lines or O-ring fitting lines? The bracket kit you have works with O-ring fitting pumps. Also the small bracket that bolts to the front of the pump is what mounts to the lower hoile on the water pump and therefor is where your issue is regarding the pump being crooked. Take a close look at the hole that the bracket bolts to and make sure the face of the hole on the water pump is square. Maybe even take another pic from the side showing great detail of the hole i'm referencing.

The fittings on the lines going to steering box? yeah, they were o ringed.
As I mentioned before, when I was trying to get a bolt of the back of the pump, I may have bent that little bracket...then my 3 pound sledge had at it, which didn`t help, and may have actually made it worse...

stupid, yes I know. I had it clamped at one and, and in the middle, trying to straighten it out. I wasn`t going crazy or anything, was just hoping it would be enough to straighten it out

I`d have to see a full on frontal of it. Is there two spacers there? IE one on each waterpump bolt?

yup, the bottom one is just covered in grease.
