So it was decent weather yesterday, I started looking into fixing some of the wiring. All of the wiring I have found to have been chewed up by the rats/mice has been the aftermarket wiring for the 4L60e swap. So that might be a plus. I then realized, the 12v switched wire to power the aftermarket controller for the 4L60e was chewed in two. This is the wire that I found unplugged shortly after purchase. With it unplugged, I am assuming the controller isn't turning on and in turn isn't powering any electronics to the transmission. Since the day I purchased it, if you put it in drive and try to go it will not take off very fast and I am going to say that's because that wire has been unplugged causing the transmission to not have any electronics and not starting out in first gear. When I found it unplugged, I plugged it back in to the fuse box and took it for a drive. It was now driving normally and ran great. The next day I drove it to work and the transmission started slipping. I'm assuming this is why it was unplugged. I got to work and unplugged that 12v power wire and have been driving it like that up until I moved and it set this last year. I had just been shifting it manually with the gear shifter and it drives normalish. It doesn't seem to slip either while driving it like that. Transmission definitely has burned fluid and needs to be rebuilt but it kept moving so I just kept driving it. Figuring one day it would go all neutrals.

So when I found that wire chewed in two and realized what it was, also realizing I wasn't seeing any of the factory wiring chewed up (yet anyways) I decided I would try to jump start it and see if I could get it to crank over. I got two sets of heavy duty jumper cables from my father in laws shop and hooked up my 03 Suburban to one battery and my wife's equinox to the other. I let it set for a little bit and then hit the key. It slowly started to turn over and then nothing. I thought I'd let it set a bit longer and was going to go inside and grab a drink. As I came around the front of the blazer i realized my Suburban wasn't running.

It had ran out of gas.... LOL.

So, I decided that was a good place to quit for the evening. It was already dark anyways. So maybe tonight I will put fuel in the burb and try again!

Well, bought some new batteries last night. Just ordered the Powermaster starter and ARP starter bolts from Leroy Diesel.

12 volt conversion part buying has began!

I took off tomorrow afternoon and all day Friday. Going to hopefully work on doing the conversion and will just be waiting on the starter to show up.

Starter was waiting when I got home from work yesterday. Went ahead and put it on last night. Im working outside on the ground and we are “supposed” to be getting some rain. So I wanted to get it put on so I wouldn’t be laying in mud hopefully. Didn’t get to work on the 12 volt conversion as much as I wanted while off work and/or this weekend. Had to run some errands etc. So hopefully it’s not raining to much or any at all after work and I can continue working on it.

Are you doing the Roscommon12V conversion?

What's the advantage of the 12v conversion? I'm still 24v.
Cheaper starters, getting rid of the 24v to 12v reducer on the firewall behind the air cleaner. The glow plugs are 12v and sometimes the system craps out and sends 24v to the Gp's.

OK, thanks. My glow plug resistor had already been deleted, and I have the dog head relay mod, so no worries there.

Non blazer related, the wife and I finally filled out paperwork for a loan on a new Solitaire trailer and are approved. So now we are just going through the process to get our order placed and will be getting a new one on order. Once the order is placed, it will be roughly 6-8 weeks waiting on them to build it to our order.

Still need to get started on a shop.

Well, finished up the conversion yesterday. Got it cranking. Had to leave for the evening.

Working on it today. It just cranks. I can’t get it to start. Doesn’t even try, just cranks. I never did get it started after I done the spin on fuel filter. The charging issue had already killed the batteries. Then it set for quite a while.

I cracked the bleeder screw on top of the filter housing and unplugged the pink wire on the injection pump. Cranked it over and I’m getting fuel out of the bleeder. I have cracked all 8 injector lines at the injectors and cranked it and all it does is crank. Im not getting much of any fuel out of the lines but they do seem “wetter” than what they were.

Do I just need to keep cranking it? Or is there a better way to maybe bleed the injection pump? Im assuming if I’m not getting a lot or any fuel really out of the lines at the injectors then maybe I’m not getting fuel through the injection pump?

This is what I mean by “wetter” it’s like there’s some fuel there but it isn’t spraying out or anything.

Once the fuel gets to the injection pump you want to plug the pink wire in so put some pressure to the injectors, otherwise all you get is a little wetness.
I usually get at least 4 injectors then I start it.
But the first time I got all 8 wet and it started right up. Now with turbo some are hard to get to.

Sorry, I should’ve said I did plug the pink wire back in and tried cranking again. Still nothing but cranks over.
