Welding

So you dont fill in the empty areas with weld? What you suppose to do tack and Body Fill? Well, Like on my project I am new at this but figured I would fill the gap with weld and then grind and Body fill and mine turned out alright.. Just gotta be careful on the welding, especially on the exterior panels to much welding could cause warpage, I thik you told me that.. Looks good though..

Yeah, ill make small patch panels for the excessively big gaps, and weld them, for the smaller ones, i wont even worry about patch panels ill just weld it.

Ahhh, so you do fill the gaps with weld, you just dont run a bead... You tack here and there back and fourth... K.. Thats what I tried to do for my panels, but after awhile of doing that I got frustrated and just ran a bead.. was alot easier, just have to watch the warpage..

yup, if you do run beads ive found that keeping a wet cloth or sponge on the backside helps the warpage also.

Well, got quite a bit welded and grinded today, all i have left is the bottoms of the fenders and that wont take too long.

Thanks! it just takes alot of frickin time to weld the shat then grind, weld let cool grind...

I Hear ya man, I am to the colorsanding and rubbing, polishing stage and it sucks...

To be honest i have no idea. It seems whenever my friends need help on something i always just tell them to leave it at my house and i'll take care of it. It's usually never really difficult so i don't charge anything. In your case you put alot of time and thought into it. I'd say $200-250 wouldn't be too much but that's just me. I mean it is your only means of income right??

I also tend to be leanient when it comes to friends so i try and stay awy from it

I think body shop guys are getting 75 to 80 bucks an hour but I am not sure on that price..

Well no problem about replying. I'm subscribed cause i actually like the fender well ideas. Now whether i do it or not is a different story but it "could" happen
