Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

wish my blazer only had that much rust. my entire rear crossmember was swiss cheese.

You could just find a pickup in a junkyard to steal the metal you need for the wall you are talking about building.

and just have it go straight down instead of having it bent back about 8 inches, then back down to rest ontop of the bed floor?

you would have to have someone make you the horizontal piece, but having the back of a cab to close of yours saves you a lot of work.

what did you do?

I'm planning to paint my interior with durabak paint. What did you do with the electrical wiring that runs down the bed to the tail lights? I'm trying to plan ahead and I haven't come up with a solution yet!

Well, I never did the bed. But I did just pull up all the carpeting in the back of my blazer, and noticed those wire running back there. Here`s post 2 of this thread, I think this is what I`m going to do:

hey for your wires in the cab on the floor,

for mine I used 3/8 alluminum fuel line and sleeved the wires through it, then used the wire or fuel line/screw down things that go over it to bolt it down, looks nice and keep the wires in place.:wink1:

I think this is the best route, although wire loom is always an option as well.

Was a little bored today, starting to get used to not being in school anymore. I noticed these ammo cans in my room yesterday when I was cleaning (they were buried under clothes) and figured I should do something with them. So, I mounted them on the tranny tunnel, and know I have a new center console. There will be various things added to them along the way like cup holders, rocker switches, shifter, etc...still trying to decide if I should paint them Hammertone gray, or die the red interior trim and dash black. My new seats will be black, so they`ll be fine...Any ideas?

the boxes look good there Ben. almost like it was designed for that.
Thanks Chas. I think they look pretty good there. A little different. I want to mount my Art Carr gate shifter on the left one, and then a couple rocker swithces, and on the right one, get some cup holders and cut two holes in the lid and drop them in and glue em down. How do you feel about painting them Hammertone gray? Should I just leave them the OD green?

looks good ben....

Think I'd like 2 or 3 of those for the back... What ammo? and how is the top hinged?

40mm. The whole top actually comes off, so both sides have latches. You`re actually able to unlatch one side, and lift it up to about maybe 60 degrees...not bad. I plan on picking up another one or two to put my tow strap in I got from Root Breaker, as well as some various tools and fluids.

I vote to paint them gray. They look out of place in that color.

very cool Ben! I really like how those fit in. I may have to steal your idea ;)

Oh and I vote leave them OD green, but then again I like to paint everything OD green.

Thanks, Ryan. Yeah, I like them OD green, but as Glenn (Chevy305) said, they look somewhat out of place. I`m thinking about painting them either painting them hammertone gray, or hammertone silver.

Here`s the two colors, which one should I paint them?

I'm lazy and would leave them green. or flat black, everything I paint is either flat black or the same color as the body.

Yeah, the hammertone gray is close to the color of the body, as well as the under side of the dash, charcoal. I think i`ll go with that.

Nice Choice! ;)

Hey guys, got a delivery today while I was at work. My Hunsaker seats! Unfortunately, they weren`t exactly what I ordered. I ordered the same seats, except in Black cloth with black vinyl, and they sent me all vinyl. I`m not sure what to do. Should I just keep them and don`t bother with returning them? I`ve already called them and left them a voicemail tell them what happened. I don`t mind them, and would be fine with them, but I ordered what I did for a reason....so, what should I do?

I sat and them, and here`s my review so far. From what I can tell, there definitely better than the seats I have. Far more comfortable. Unfortunately, they`re not as wide as I thought, so I can feel the bars on the edges of the seats a bit, but it`s not too bad...
