Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

Problem guys. More info on truck that I didn`t know. (cab is still the same)

It`s 2wd. Just has 350 and th400, no rear end. Can I still use the cab?

You can use the cab, you just need to decide how to proceed. You can either convert the frame to 4wd, or put the cab on your Blazer frame. Either one is going to involve some work, although I believe the moving the cab to the Blazer is the simplest. That would involve fabbing some rear cab mounts up for the back of the cab. Then you would just have to decide what to do for a bed.

I`m thinking putting the cab on the frame would be easiest. As for the rear cab mounts, I`ll just have to take the crossmember off the P/U frame and modify it, as some has gone, and bed will either be my blazer bed shortened, or a custom tube flatbed..So it being a 2wd cab is not a problem? Just have to cut whole for tcase shifter, right?

That should be the only modification, IIRC. Everything else should line up, but if there is anything else that needs modification, I am sure someone else will chime in and let you know.

I hope so:D

if u swap the p/u cab to the blazer frame, just shorten the shortbed or find a stepside bed and shorten that where the steps are

Anyone else have any input? How hard would it be to use this cab? What about converting to 4wd?

If I remember correctly a 2wd cab has a smaller hump then a 4wd cab. Im not sure the t case will clear the floor with out some modification or a body lift.

Some 2wd's have the big hump, hit or miss there, some cabs also have unboltable center humps, just depends on your luck near as I can tell.

when you swap the pickup cab, just install the hump from your blazer, then all the shifter holes will be correct

I have an even better idea. The location of the rust on the roof makes me a PERFECT canidate to do a full convert. conversion later on. So after my bed/cab floor/rockers are done, I`ll move onto that.

Sounds like a lot better idea to me than swappin bodys!

Now that would be a cool idea, especially if you keep the exiting front clip on your 90. I always liked the grille on those, just prefer my 80. But with a full vert that would be a sweet setup.

Yeah, I`d definitely keep the 90 front clip. I love it!

Speaking of that, I also painted my grill up. I`ll get it on today, and snap some pics. Came out good! (I think anyways):D
