Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

Awesome Ben! those are two nice lookin K-5s. Now lets see some action pics!

About the hitch, I also had to remove mine for the ORD flip, next time I am at my truck I will get some pics of how I modified the hitch mounting so it would still work. So what's your next project?

Thanks, Ryan, I really love how it came out. Yeah, there will be action pics, as soon as the new rubbers come.....If you don`t mind taking a pic of the hitch, that would be great, i`d love to put it back on....

There`s a few other things I would like to get going.

Here`s the list, in no particular order:
1. Install PermaCool Remote Filter and temp gauge kit
2. Buy and Install good Trans Cooler
3. Install Lokar shifter
4. Head light mod
5. ORD Bolt on steering brace
6. Lock Right for front axle
7. new tires (trxus mt)
8. finish rot work
9. new or rebuilt motor
10. get my tranny installed, or install it with my buddy and his dad

and I`m sure more will come along the way....

nice list you got there. It's too bad you don't live closer, cause I would give you a good deal on my trxus mts

Thanks DelCity!

Thanks to DelCity for sending me some of goodies. These will be used to do the head light mod. All I need now is some wiring, and something to put the relays/circuit breakers, and such into for protection from the weather.

Their website is www.DelCity.net , and I highly recommend them..

Just remember this, their minimum order is $25, which is why I got things like the cable ties, shrink tube, and the 3 rocker switches. Suprisingly, this order came to just over $26.

(3) Surf N Turf rocker switches:

Man Ben, the rust monster is really gettin' to your rig. I'm glad you were able to get that spring hanger off without any frame damage. By the looks of the following posts, everything bolted up fine. Have you inspected your entire frame for any cracks? One thing I would suggest is start wire wheeling/wire brush your frame as best you can and prime it with a rusty metal primer. Take action now or pay dearly later. JMHO, .03 at the current rate of inflation.

Hey Mr. Ben,

Way to go on replacing the center pin correctly! Safety, safety, safety! Like the zero rates! Didn't know you could use them in the rear. Also, are those new u-bolts? They look kinda worn. Hope they are new. You should not re-use u-bolts.

Keep up the good work. You'll have a great trail rig before your through! :D

Mr. Ben,

What is this headlight modification you are talking about? Sounds interesting. C'mon, spill the beans!

Overall good job Mr. Ben! Lift looks good and so does the rig! Keep up the good work. I totally can understand delays in building. Been there and done that!

So what's next on the list of things to do? I'm still working on that 7.62mm ammo can for you. Can seem to find one that is sealing correctly.

Yep, it`s right in the way of where the flip bolts to the frame. As far as I know, it can be put back on with some mods., as soon as muddermilitia spills the beans :deal:

It's over at my brother's house and I'm going there after I shovel the driveway here. So pics later today, I promise!

Thanks Manny. I really love the way it looks. It definitely sits a little higher in the back, ~2" I`m guessing. My mom has a scion XA, and when she would park behind me, she would hit my license plate. Now, with the hitch gone, if she`s not carefull, she`ll go right through my gas tank:crazy:

I`m thinking next, hopefully, will either be installation of the Lokar shifter, or the headlight mod, which is what I wanted that 7.62mm ammo can for. If you`re interested in the headlight mod, do a search, there`s quite a few threads on it. I got my schematic from dave 90 blazer, who found out a better way to do it.

Thanks again guys!
