Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

The other trick for painting plexiglas, is to paint the colors in reverse order from the back side......stencil white first, then shoot the black.

You'll have markings that will never be damaged or scratched, and there will be a semi-gloss appearance to the paint as it shines through the plexi too.

That's an old trick from my days as an audio installer, making subwoofer boxes with clear plexiglas windows in them....

I wish I had thought of that before I painted the whole thing black:crazy:

Hey guys, I`m having a little issue, about shifters. See the problem is this, I already have the 23" Lokar Nostalgia, which at the time, and still do, thought it would be pretty sweet to have it in the rig. But now I keep finding myself over on Art Carr or Winters Performance website looking at their shifters....I think I want one of those now because I found a trick way to mount one using an ammo can, but it would cause me so much hassel if I were to get it, as I`d have to sell my Lokar, then go through the whole purchasing of the AC/Winters, without a c.c......I don`t even know why I`m posting this, I guess i`ll just see what replies I get...:(

On a side note, my tax return is going to be nothing like what I had hoped.:( Sorry to say, but this may inflict some changes, unfortunately......:(

EDIT: Alright. I think I`ll be able to get the money I need for my tires, either way, but I`ll tell you the 2 options I have, and see what you think.

Option 1: get (4) brand new, 33x12.5r15 TrxUs M/T for around 800 from local tire place with road hazard warranty, free front end alignment, flat repair, rotation

Option 2: get (4) 35x12.5r15 TrxUs MT, used, with about 2/3rds wear, which supposably have even wear....

Right now I have a 700r4 and 3.73 gearing, and don`t really want to regear, if at all possible.

So, a little while ago I go out, and pop the hood to my truck, to get a good mounting spot for the ammo can I`m using for the headlight mod, and come to the conclusion, there is no real good place to put it:doah: I really shouldv`e looked before I decided to use the ammo can:doah: Where I wanted to put it, the overflow jar is there....If it isn`t one thing its another:D

looks like i`m going to have to come up with something different....

If there is one thing to say about our truck's it's that there is an inmeasureable amount of space under the hood. Be creative, it's there!

As for the shifter, I'm going to look into it, maybe, maybe, it can be used with the 350. How long ago did you buy it? Maybe if they wouldn't allow a return they will allow an exchange (to a TH350 unit). If that is the case I'll buy it from you.

Good luck, maybe some pics under the hood will help us give you some ideas.

I really don`t see why I wouldn`t work with the th350....I only bought it a couple weeks ago, at a local place, and since they had to order it, its non returnable....

As for the space being there, yeah I suppose you`re right. There looks to be space where the factory jack used to be on the drivers side wheel well...

Another thing to add, when I was out there tinkering around with the rig, I decided to pull out the 33" spare that came with the wheels I got. So, I pulled one of my current tires off, and put the spare in its place, and it`s ~2" taller than the Mickey Thompsons I have on there. So, I think it will be somewhat of an improvement, noticable or not, when I get my new tires (33x12.5 TrxUs):D

I recommend getting the used tires. Offer $250 and go from there. Then you can use what you saved on other things you need now and save for new tires in the future.

X2 This is the way I would go

If you want to relocate the overflow bottle get one of these you can get it at your local Advance auto parts the part # is BVR4 and only $10.48.

no need, i`ll show you what i come up with tomorrow

As for the tires, thats what I`m thinking....and I may be able to get a screaming deal on a front axle to go with it....

Hey guys. It`s been tough trying to motivate myself here. So today, I figured I could do a little cutting. So, with the 15ft of unistrapping that I have, I could up some floor supports. The reason being, is even though we used a sufficient gauge sheet metal, we didn`t do anything to stregthen it, so it has some flex to it...

Well, not anymore!!!

Here`s what I`ll be using to mount the ammo can on the drivers side wheel well.
