Yeah, along with the unistrut, came a box full of the spring nuts and 3/8ths bolts....all free of chargejustiz00 said:For the unistrut you can get some spring nuts and use 1/4-20 button head (rounded) allen bolts to fasten the sheet metal down. That way its easily removeable and you dont have to have anyone hold the nut on the other side while tightening. Spring nuts should be available for any electrical supply house.

Well, it`s not all about wheel choices...I just think it`ll hold up, as like I said, I`m not a hard wheeler..I think, I`m going to just regear my rear to 4.56 and keep the posi unit in there....Craig Artzner said:If you're not a hard wheeler, I'd stay 6-lug. IMO the wheel choices are more attractive. But that's just me, I can't bring myself to wheel my rig because it's a showpiece![]()
It`s an 8 lug, but I could easily just swap the 6 lug stuff of my current axle to the new one, that way I can use the wheels I got, just incase I can`t get those 8 luggers....gmc4cw said:is the front axle you are getting 6 or 8 lug?

gmc4cw said:I know that when I first lifted my truck if someone was selling axles with 3.73 gears and a posi I would have jumped on them. my truck came with 2.72's.![]()
Are you voluntering (sp?) Glenn?Chevy305 said:I think that the gears thenselves are alittle more than $150 plus the install kit at about $80ish with all shims, seals, and bearing needed. If you really want more insurance go for chromo axel shafts for about $100 each. And if you want to replace any other parts then thats just more $$.
I have 1 chromo shaft, I think for now I will just buy the other chromo shaft until I can get the 14bsf.

Well, my buddys dads` work has a press...wonder if we could use it.....Chevy305 said:Well I know I could help out with the rear end, having learned from my own mistakes when I regeared my own...
But ya no problem...
Just to make it go a hell of a lot easier, access to a hydrolic press is prefered. Or if there is a machine shop around the corner from your house...
BIGBLAZE433 said:More food for thought....worth swapping the Lockright from the front axle into the rear, and putting the posi up front?
Well, my rear is 30...not sure about the front I`m getting..gmc4cw said:that may not work. fronts can be 28 or 30 spline as well as the rear. I have installed front lockrights but never a rear. I don't know how they deal with the c-clips but that may also present a problem.

If they are the same spline, is it possible?Chevy305 said:Well thats a more common setup with a rear locker and posi front. I would prefer that setup as apposed to the other way around.
But yeah just be aware of the axel shaft splines.
