Project Burt - he needs some lovin'

Yesterday and the day before that has been exciting for me. Gotta love opening long, skinny boxes!  high angle driveline 1350 CV with a slip yoke

I also got some ck5 stickers in the mail!

And with new parts, of course I had to go offroading. Here's a shot of the morning after.

And my truck hit a milestone too! Odometer hasn't rolled over either :D

Looking good man!

I go through Southington every time I go back and forth from school to home

Hit some mud holes...not bad.

Decided that i'm gonna start gathering parts to swap my 1 tons into the blazer, plus a 7"suspension lift and 2" body lift...to fit my 38.5" boggers.

Thinking about running drive slugs, chromoly shafts, and a possible Detroit in the front along with a rebuild. 456 geared already along with a Detroit 14 bolt...should be a fun little ride.

Also a repaint and body work in the next few months along with kerts bumpers and some rock sliders

I'm ordering my soft top this week, a couple weeks ahead of schedule thanks to my return. I'm ordering tan, so now I need to pick a paint scheme to match. I want to keep my original tan color as part of a 2 tone.

Any suggestions as to what I should do for top/bottom paint?

A few new things, got a soft top! I like to call it an investment.

Then I was bored one day and decided to flex it out.

Got a set of 56" ez rides in trade for tires, I think they're 6" lift but that isn't confirmed. They have a pretty big arch. Still have most of the sticker on them, I guess I'll have to run the numbers

Nice man. Soft top looks good, thats on my list of purchases in the near future if I can swing it. Keep it up!

thanks for the encouraging words. I am still planning on lifting burty more, should i go with stock length front springs, or should i go with 52's? once i get another truck at the beginning of summer, this won't be a daily driver, but i would still like it to have some road manners

will the front end wander as much as i've heard with 52's? i have a friend who is trying to start his own fab shop on the side, he can make me a track bar for cheap (parts and labor). are 52's the way to go, or should i get a custom spring pack? also how much does the axle get pushed forward with a 52 swap? i don't want my truck looking like it's got buck teeth with tires sticking out the front. i'm trying to keep them within a couple inches of centered in my wheel wells, but a little forward would be okay

I plan on getting a 2"body lift, I know my friend with a 94 Yukon couldn't use his fan shroud when he did a body lift. Do k5s have a similar issue, and if so, do body lifts come with a relocation bracket?

Why a 2" body lift? You know that ORD sells a 1" body lift right? I have one on my big K5, and one on my 1988 V10 Suburban. You just have to trim the bottom of the shroud a little with the 1" body lift.

I was thinking about going 2" for a little extra clearance, I don't want to have to trim more than a little at the corners in the front. Would 8" custom front springs and a 1" BL be enough to prevent hard rubbing, and subsequent shredding of my fenders?

A 1" body lift doesn't look goofy. A 2" or 3" ones does (in my opinion).
