Project Eat Soot

It would probably be ideal to fab up a sheetmetal heat shield as a barrier for the heat of the turbo either way you go. I will end up doing that for my '71.

I like your approach on the truck as well. Very simple, yet very effective approach. Good work so far!

Well Gents the Turd made it out of the garage finally! Everything went well, it felt great to drive it again. I will try and get a You Tube video of it leaving the driveway....still lots to do but this was a major hurdle.

That's a huge success, Soot. :waytogo:

We don't see a lot of..... the getting ready to drive it around here.

Just a lot of pics of piles in guys garages, stating that they might drive their rig again...

Congrats man.

Can't wait to see the vid..:thumb:

Edit... Here ya go man. Should help with the upload.

Finally got it figured out. Thanks again Norcal! I will get some better video's up after I get some more done. It's not licensed yet so did'nt want to wonder off too far!

Man, that's a trip.... :screwy:

It's just weird to hear that kind of sound come out of a 1st gen.

Don't get my wrong, it's way cool, just a trip to watch it and listen to it at the same time. :waytogo:

Congrats again on getting her down the road... :woot:

Man I was really hoping you were going to roll coal out of the driveway :doah:

I do love that turbo whistle though :waytogo:

Thanks guys, Man I did want to put the pedal down...But trying to not be "that guy"....you know the Toyota guy, Jeep Cherokee Guy, Nissan Titan Guy in the neighborhood! ha! Believe me I will be laying a little soot soon. Just gotta make sure the vitals are working first...like brakes!

Ha! Yeah an exhaust brake would be cool! Not looking forward to replacing the rockers that's up next after the gauges are done. I have read plenty of how to's on this doesn't appear to be much fun. Also one more pic...can't decide if I like the chrome diff covers kinda cheesy looking any thoughts?

that is one heck of a build. well done!

but i'd nix the chrome diff covers...

love it man!!! finished in quick time too!

lol, I was thinking the same thing. my brain just wouldn't connect that sound to the blazer. I kept thinking some douche is running his diesel behind the camera! :haha:
F'ing awesome though. that is going to turn some heads for sure!

I liked that the video was all blurry around the edges......made it feel like I was in some kind of dream sequence with a cool Blazer in it. :waytogo:

Very nice job! Get a nice factory bumper on that thing and cruise it till the wheels fall off!

Thanks guys, Yes only the factory style bumpers will go on it. I do not have any yet will soon hopefully just so much more to do. Hell, I think I'm still in a daze also...can't believe it actually worked! Ha...
