So I took the truck out camping last weekend and it actually worked great! I have a few gremlins to work out, such as a few wiring issues. The only carnage I had was my hydraulic steering mount on my axle getting ripped off (I even remember someone warning me about that, lol) My front tire got ripped off the bead and I blew the straps holding on my rear driveshaft u joint AS i was loading my truck onto the trailer to take it home! Other than that it was a great weekend! I have more pics to come and some videos as I get them from my friends. I Need to make a canvas box cover with snaps for my box because when I got home I had to shovel about 2 to 3 inches of mud out of my box.

Cool pics and rig...

Looks like you have ALOT of frame flex though. Maybe a crossmember or two is in order.

sure would like to check out said videos. :D
very nice truck i really like it. giving me many ideas!

Thats awsome, they are extremely common where i live...But i live in the south. Never thought i would see someone up in Canada.

Wow I totally forgot to update my page! haha! Well so far, this summer has been full of wheeling trips, and just repairing what I broke. nothing new quite yet on the rig. ill get some pics and video up when I do have some time(I keep saying that). That sure is the flag plate, its to bad he destroyed that grille and has not put it back on yet. Another one of my buds has the flag in the back window of his 79 dually.

Yes It was with a mildly built 350, but its time to retire it becasue it has a bent frame, lots of cracks, the cab is beat to hell (underside) and either my t-case or tranny is starting to go because its got a nasty grinding sound when I let off the throttle, toasted clutch as well as clutch linkage (it was manual linkage, I always had problems with it. thats why im switching over tho hydraulic) and I want a lighter truck.

Kind of a random question about your old rig, but did you ever find out what was causing the grinding when you let off the throttle? I've got a SM465/NP208 that's been doing that for over a year now and I can't track down where it's coming from.

Oh man I wish I could help you out But I don't even remember what the grinding sound even sounded like:crazy: I never really looked into it, I just got rid of the truck. Sorry, I wish I could help you out.

So still not much of an update really, I have just been out wheelin all summer. Next month or so I will be bringing the rig back into the shop for another winter rebuild. this time i'm looking into the engine, snorkle, axles, a cage and the list goes on. I am also toying with the idea of Dovetailing, or bobbing in, or narrowing, or whatever its called to the front and rear of the truck. any opinions would be welcome. oh and this winter ill be painting it yellow, I think i finally made up my mind on that one.
heres a few pictures of a few wheelin trips. I dont have that many pictures mainly because im not the one taking the pictures and it takes forever to get pics off my buds.
........ ok so they are still uploading..... so while I wait for the pics to upload ill post a pic up of my old rig..... I kind of miss it..... thats one main reason the new rig will be yellow

OH it is on the list for sure!!! lol theres a story behind that picture too. If you noticed, the driver side rear is not a bogger, I popped that one off the bead earlier on in the day. so when I popped that one in the picture, i had no spare. we had to send a guy back to camp to pull a tire off of his D-max and bring it out to get me back to camp.... on the way back out to us with his tire he popped a bead!!! Grrr!! it was a long day of walking, haha

oh ok, you'll have to let us know how the herculiner holds up. ive been looking to do some kind of spray on liner or roll on liner in my k10 but i don't want something that will last a few years and then have to be scraped up and done over again.

heres a blast from the past!!!

Chevyridinhigh, it has held out well everywhere EXCEPT underneath my gas pedal where I rest my heel, thats all worn out already. Im guessing its because I didn't prep it there good enough.
