Project K-1 build, 75 jimmy gets the H-1 transplant

Very cool build! Just one question: the 6.2 exhaust manifold is protruding into the cab, near the a/c heater box and ducting. Are you concerned that the excess heat will melt the plastic?

The covering for the exhaust in the cab is not finished. I will covering with 1/8" plate and insulating with heat blankets. I just need to finish mocking it up, and it's a factory 6.5 not 6.2 but close enough I guess;)

o.k. I was just interested, because the stock fire wall is pretty thin and that manifold would put off a ton of heat. I hope your plan works well.

Finished the cover, paint and hurculiner.

damn, someone's been getting some work done.:waytogo:

lookin' good dude. i know the cover for the wastegate was a lot of work, you did a good job. keep up the good work.

That looks like a good build, but I can not figure out why you would put so much work into running a 6.5 diesel. I thought the power numbers were pretty low on these vs. a nicely built gas engine. Is the H1 diesel different from the other 6.5's?

Anyway, good luck with the build. It looks like you are making a lot of progress.
