Project OVERKILL - Ppump 24v Fummins swap started

went into to the injection pump, changed the springs for more rpm. took the grinder too the fuel plate, made a 0 plate. reassembled with fuel plate full forward and AFC housing full forward. We'll see how that burns, if not enough then lazer cut delivery valves and some injectors are in order.

KDP killed........and not a moment too soon. it was walked out about 1/3 of the way. And I'm shooting it Cummins red before install.

Cool. If I had one thing to do over at this point, I would have gone with a different color than the black. It is a relatively large motor, but it gets lost in the "sea of blackness" under the hood.

You're no fun. The KDP is like a Cummins lotto - odds are it will never come out, but if you're one of the lucky 'winners' you get one of three random 'prizes' :doah:

ya I'm not a gambler...catastrophic, major oil leak, straight into the pan. ya no, I don't like those odds.

I thought about that when choosing the color. Cummins approved "Apex Red" high solids engine enamel. it needed to POP against the white truck. Albino Rhino has a red heart 'eh

KDP? Wassat?

"killer Dowel Pin"

that dowel thats in my pics, right above the cam gear. aligns the gearcase to the block. the gear case hole is NOT a blind hole and the dowel can walk out and drop into the geartrain. through vibration and years of service. dowel + geartrain + running engine = bad ........if you have horseshoes up your ass and around your neck and in your pockets when it falls it drops straight into the oil pan. not usually though. it falls between the cam gear and the injection pump gear and you have a majpr problem.

Hey, it's better odds than Vegas :D Of course, I have been known to gamble on occasion, but I wouldn't have put the motor in without that fix either. Losing a bet and being out some cash is bad enough, but losing the bet and sitting broke-dick alongside the road is something else entirely :doah:

Wow how come Im just now finding this post? I love it!!! Is the new rear end a C&C? They are narrow enough to get the wheels tucked almost all the way into the rear fenders. Also where did you get your adapters? Tenn.? Glad to see the cummins! Keep up the good work.

Checked the timing last night.............:doah:good ****in thing too some one had it set at 27* BTDC. I checked it 3 times. not good. Stock for this CPL 1959 160hp pump is 13.5*. I set it up to 16.25* timing is static on these engines. did about half the 47RH rebuild after that.

Oh and got my new cowl hood in yesterday with the new frt fenders and fuel tank. goodmark steel 3 cowl. i LOVE it.
