Project OVERKILL - Ppump 24v Fummins swap started

The internal door parts in a 89-98 Geo Tracker/Suzuki Sidekick are SUPER simple. As in "a guy with a click in his name can fix this with a monkey wrench and no advanced training" simple. However the guys at Suzuki didn't seem to have thought AT ALL about moisture getting into the doors and freezing on the latch mechanisms.
Every year when I lived up in Nothern Michigan in November or December when it'd start getting cold I'd have to take the doors apart and just lube the hell out of every internal part of those doors. Could USUALLY make it through a winter with the doors working.

Yup, pretty much if you can't thaw your car out to wash it, you just don't. There is a car wash here in Fairbanks that will let you wash then store your car overnight (for a premium) so as to let it dry out, since it may not rise above freezing from November to March. But mostly, it'll be dirty all winter long.

Oh and DEMON: I hate you. Your truck is too cool.

Apparently my truck ate the energizer bunny........

few things, the truetrac in the rear......... is pure awesome. the big brakes haul the truck down to nil in an instant. serious brakeing power, you can feel it. and with the Super60 it turns rediculously sharp. really it kicks ass. making a truck this big turn that sharp.

This is what we've been waking up too. I swear it hasn't been warmer than -25 in MANY DAYS ..... so I'll get a wash and good pics soon. :doah:

:eek1:That thermometer looks scary. Wait until July and August and I can post a pic of one for you that's almost topped out on the other side.:eek1:

Ok got a prelim weight on one of the highway turnout DOT self scale things....

looks like with just fuel and me in it......

8770 lbs

I'll run across a certified scale at the truck stop to verify though.

Impressive build! Best of all worlds (once you dump the Cummins in)

I'm interested to see what the pig weighs once you dump the 12V into it!

Either you were positionned bad on the plates and your tires were partially on the third plate or their scale is Focked up:
You show 20 lbs on the third axle.

Mine actually scaled 8860 lb. with me in the driverseat and an empty box.

of course, I saw that. theres no issue with the scale. I was probably too far back theres no plates. its one long scale, so I don't know how they sense axles. but you can see the note box right there, says the certified weight is the gross weight only. and I don't care what my axle weights are, just gross. so I didn't rescale.

So you were right at the split, OK then they are cool.
I know they only certify the gross, but we rely on the accuracy of the axles weights or we'd be screwed if they were too far off.
DOT will waive a 100lbs off or even up to 150lbs off, but more than that and you're in trouble.
