Project Penny - All good things must come to an end

Housing just dropped off to Clay at EVO. When we got it on the floor out of my truck he looked at it and goes. Ohhhhhh both sides are bent.......

Well, I've certainly been slacking on this post for a bit. My truck's front axle is repaired and back in under the truck :thumb: I still need to finish putting my front driveshaft in and tweaking the steering some, but I definitely have some truck porn for ya'll to oogle once I get off my lazy night shift working butt and post some pitchers for ya'll

I took it for lunch today. It has more balls than I remembered, sounds friggin awesome (except for the stupid squealing serp belt) but handles like crap, and dives to the right when I stop.

Good enough for now, lol! I'll get it linked by Evolution Machine later on this summer to solve all my issues.

Been driving the Nancy boy gasspot too much

No kidding! That 5.3L just ain't anywhere near the same level of power as the dmax trucks. The Sierra is so limited with torque management and stuff that it just doesn't take off as well despite being much faster once you get moving.

and some of my most awesome paint chop skills:haha:

I'll get a few pics of the truck with the wheels on when this weekend -- I am showing it off at a local show and shine on Sunday :waytogo:

The Tahoe is going to go back to Evo sometime this summer to get 3-linked up. I am not happy with how the truck handles (never was) and he did very nice work on the steering mount. The broken axle tube welds are still being a problem for me. The camber is still messed up and the diff needs to have a truss installed along the top to keep the tube straight. The tube isn't moving in the other axis anymore with the ram mount but it flexes enough in the other direction to see it in the wheels.

So, we had a father's day show and shine at the local church here this afternoon. One of the star attractions was a mobile dyno unit that set up and was letting you do 3 pulls for $100.

So, the crowd thought it was hilarious when the big ol diesel Tahoe pulls onto the dyno in between all the supercharged, turbocharged, big block and nitrous sprayed classic cars and modern muscle, but I put down a very respectable 307hp and 602 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels with my Tahoe rolling on 37s, only putting out just a very light haze of black smoke. :woot:

Did better than I thought it would! Didn't even break anything :thumb: I got a good laugh out of the dyno tech trying to figure out the ZF6:haha::haha:
