Project Penny - All good things must come to an end

What's more satisfying is beating most of the swanky gasspots. They get their noses out of joint in a hurry.

More pictures of steering please. First time Ive ever seen a double ended ram done like that.

It's a ram assist. Basically it's a power rack that replaces the tierod. I've got some very clear shots of one set up on an Excursion if you want.

Nice numbers dude! Glad you got her back on all 4 wheels again. I'm very excited to take a ride in the 'hoe in a couple months!:pimp:

Made a lot more torque than a couple of built cars did! I didn't beat a whole lot for horsepower though :waytogo: Most powerful of the day put down 720hp

I took the truck in for a steering alignment today, the toe is now properly set but my camber is all kinds of crazy because the long side axle tube weld broke again.

I put out requests for all the local fabricators (and some not so local) to provide me with quotations to get the front end properly repaired so it'll actually hold as well as to truss the front axle and 3-link it with coil overs. We shall see who actually gets back to me. Local fabricators are not always the best for actually wanting to do "small fry" work like this. I dunno how 3-linking a duramax powered 1 ton'd Tahoe is now considered small fry, but it appears it is! haha!

Either way, I am gunning to get this done by September for Moab. I am probably going to miss out on a bunch of local wheeling though =/ It is barely driveable as it is, forget wheelable.

So linking a truck and basically rebuilding a front axle is small fry work.

HOLY CRAP.

Because in their mind theyre still only doing one. Call em up and tell them you have a fleet of trucks to do said conversion to pending the outcome of the first truck and watch them come begging for the job lol. :D

I have a really good axle guy a few hours from me in PA. I dont know what shipping would be but he could certainly set the axle up properly.

Is there any reason you cant just weld the C on inside and out and then gusset it?

Looks like I am going to be hauling my Tahoe 15hrs away to a shop near Vancouver to get the 3-link done in 2 weeks :waytogo:

They've built some pretty dang nice stuff, I'm looking forward to getting my truck back and actually being able to drive it on the highway without it wandering all over the road :haha:

Abbotsford! Cool! That's were I`m from. :thumb:

Looks like those guys know what they are doing! :waytogo:
Have you met them at KOH?

These guys leaped at the opportunity to provide me with a quotation for service (vs me having to hound the local guys to give me a number, which I still don't have!) and have the background and experience to build what I am after in a prerunner suspension.

Yes, I have seen their vehicles out at the competitions etc but I haven't met them in person yet... I hear nothing but good about them!

that's a good sign Russell, how much work do they have in front of your project?
