Don’t know if you can tell from the pics but it’s got about 1.5” of clearance from the tie rods
So 5.5 would probably be too close. Might be able to get away with with 5 though.
Just in case you haven't noticed yet, it looks like the right brake hose is flirting with the sidewall of the tire.
I used small throttle springs, zip tied to the hose and shock to hold mine back. Along with trying to position the hose by twisting the fittings a little..

Co-worker was in an accident in his 2007 Tahoe. He was T-boned. He said he would sell me the truck for 1000 running and driving after he takes off all his aftermarket stuff and interior. It’s got the Lq9 6 liter in it. Maybe this will turn into an LS swap? 
Got my welder back. Sold this to my buddy when I was recovering from my motorcycle wreck last April. He sold it back to me today he hadn’t even used it once. Plugged it in and got that shock tower welded in.

I might. I would love to be able to make it down to Moab with some of you guys and visit my pops in Havasu. Also, the market is in high demand for classics with LS swaps. Modern reliability and classic aesthetic. I probably won’t just because I hate fuel injection. But it’s definitely something to consider. Yeah, it’s cliche’ but it’s cliche because is works.
My experience with the late model engines is that they need to be revved up to do anything. I have a 6.0, 6L90E truck at work, and it needs some throttle to make a noticeable change in speed. And it the fuel economy is nothing to talk about around town. Usually 11 to 12.
The other thing that I suggest that you check out before you pull the trigger is the manual transmission which you just installed. What I find is that hooking up to an old manual transmission takes some tricks to have everything work nice together. I don't have actual experience yet, but I have looked into putting my '95 NV4500 behind a 5.3.
