Got the shock tower removed. I’m back to work so things will be moving slower now.
I still don’t think I’ll be able to properly place the shock tower until I get my steering column back in and make sure there is clearance.

Welp, I pulled the whole dash apart. Took everything off and boy, I’m glad I did. Tons of “pro electrician” splices. Literally just twisted and taped. Took the time to splice all the connections correctly and now it’s going back together. Really glad I did that. Cheap insurance.
Also traced my tach wiring down. That will now be functional. Took the speakers out of the front (garbage sounding). I have some new 6x9’s to throw in the back. Nothing fancy just something to make a little noise. I don’t like the radio on when there is a bad a** engine to listen too anyways.
I’m to the floor drilling point.
then I can put the fresh pedal assembly in.
my seats were bolted to the floor with tiny bolts probably 3/8”. Going to make braces that the seats can bolt to underneath with larger bolts. Also fab a brace for the tuffy box once the 700r4 is removed. Definitely was a janky set up before.
Waiting on the Teflon to come in the mail. Forgot to measure my release bearing while I was out in the shop so I can order my flywheel, clutch etc., want to make sure I get the right throw out.

Throwing around the idea of a tactical shifter knob with a built in weapon. Idk why but weapons make me happy.
anyways, I’m going to build a replica of the Femur bone shifter from Mad Max Fury Road from the War Rig in the movie.
Want to keep the same shape as the shifter cane is originally on the sm465. Unlike this photo I’m going to use round stock and sharpen it to a point and thread it on the end nearest the bone so it will screw into the shifter cane which will be made out of pipe instead of being solid. Want to figure out a detent push button set up for it later but this’ll do for now.

Havnt had time to get out and attempt to recoat the shifter forks. My first impression of the this product is that it is too thin.
what i think i am going to do is set up the forks so that they can sit in a jar without touching the bottom and letting them soak in this stuff and allowing the alcohol to evaporate at the same time.
i bought three bottles which hopefully will be enough to do this a couple different ways.

Chipping away at it. These 61 day slides at work are killing me but my bank account is super happy.
Picked up an XJ steering shaft yesterday. Checknout my shaft. I couldnt believe they were $200 on rock auto. Picked this up for $20
I used to wear my dads was made in the 70’s. Got too ripped up from wrenching. Wife got sick of looking at it and bought me a new one for christmas. Its not as well made as the one from the 70’s lol
Flywheel, Clutch, Pilot, Throw out bearing all on order and on its way.
Im thinking im just going to buy a new novak adapter before installing this set up. I just want to have to do this once for at least a while. This will add some time as i have to buy this without the wife noticing. $300. But i think it will be worth the money as they are stronger than an original used one. It will also look good and not weigh on the back of my mind later haha

You say leniency, I say leverage.
Im starting to think the only way to get enough built up is going to be dipping multiple times. Im going to let this sit through the day and see if it evaporates at all. Might try brushing it on with a small paint brush and see if that helps with build up.
i did put this stuff on some squeaky door hinges and wow they are smoother and silent. Very nice.

I wait until I need something and I buy it.
My wife asks me if she wants to buy something but only to see if we have the money not ask for permission and I never ask anything.
If I feel I can afford it I buy it weather I need it or want it.

So, I think I figured out how to get a thick coating with this stuff. Dip the part and then burn off the alcohol and repeat. Works extremely good and i think this will really work instead of buying new forks.
