IMHO, in this case any possible weight gain it worth it for the better traction control. If a person did it on the cheap (me), Using shocks, coild springs out of something and then DOM tubing and then regular bracket fabrication, 85 pounds per side might be hard to hit. Even if you do, By the time you put a good traction control onto a longer leaf, Real links looks much better.
