yeah. Screw in studs with slide on spacers in the back.
My buddy's been doing that on his TJ with a swapped in 8.8" for years. Works well and he's not easy on his Jeep...and has a tepid relationship with torque wrenches.

Got some **** done today. Was at the shop all day.
Well I had mentioned that my radiator crossmember was out of square by about an 1/8 an inch. I didnt come this far to leave or ignore problems or mistakes so I cut the ****er off and fixed that **** !

Back on, in square measured 60 thousand times to be sure
I painted my tierod, draglink, and panhard bar today, which isnt very interesting really. Bolted and glued the cover on the diff, capped the coil buckets and panhard bar mount, and welded the weld washers to the panhard mount.
So my front axle is totally done except for a steering stabilizer mount which I plan on doing way down the road. After not having a stabilizer on my chevy for 3 years Im really not a big advocate of needing them...

Its really funny how I work on the thing for 8-10hrs and post an update here and feels like I got nothing done lol. 
I have some spots Ive gotta clean up on the frame and I want to cap the top of my steering box mount plates so it doesnt catch mud. Then the entire front clip is gonna get a good coat of paint. Then I can bolt the steering box back on, probably for good. I need to finish my damn control arms once and for all so I can get the axle bolted into place and steering hooked up.
Then its onto rolling the thing outside and putting it next to my trooper to figure out the rear axle placement

So I flipped the frame back over and snapped some shots of some of the welded stuff. Didnt get anything done on the damn thing this weekend... Wired an electric fan in my 442 so I can sell it, did a side job on a honda, and resealed the top of the windshield in the trooper for the winter.
I did finish weld the control arms at work on friday night. Hopefully tomorrow Im gonna get them final ground down nice, mounted and brake brackets welded on and then painted. Also gotta cap the top of the steering box mount on the frame.

Now that the frames flipped I welded the radiator crossmember in solid, again.
Found a new sweet spot for welding heavy with my hobart. Seems to like a bit more wire speed than Ive been using all along
Wasnt welding bad before, just a tad cold I guess cause I can see a better heat affected area now.
I also capped off my steering box mount so a little work with the air grinder and the front end is gonna be ready for some paint. I shot my coil retainers black so everything for the front end is all painted now. I also picked up some brake lines from carquest.
Since the frame is flipped back over I figured Id snap some shots of the radius arm mounts all gusseted and capped. Theyre fully welded to the X-member tube and have two vertical 45* gussets and then capped over that. Have I stressed enough that Im capping and designing everything to not catch and hold mud and sand and **** on this truck???
Wednesday Im going to mount the front end on the control arms and get the brake hose brackets welded on the radius arms. Then its finish grind, flapper wheel, paint them and wire wheel and paint the front of the frame. Then before the end of the weekend Im gonna assemble the entire front end.

Now that it is back on its belly, can we please have a whole pic of the frame or are ya gonna just keep teasing us.
Don't forget to triple layer powder coat with a layer of Pam nonstick to help keep the dirt, mud, and sand off that frame. No more rust!
