Pzuzu The Isuzu Build (RIP)

I havent forgotten about this ****ing thing! Once the snow melts and spring breaks its ****ing game on... Me and my buddy were discussing how he as afraid I had lost site of finishing this with the 2wd build Ive been doing but **** that. Once some **** is in order Im getting a clutch and a doubler kit and getting the drivetrain put together, body mounted and floor cut out to flat belly the thing.

Somethings I will be skipping however will be the intercooler and the A/C. There just isnt enough real-estate with how long the motor is.

I'd been wondering about this recently, but figured it was a weather-related delay in updates. :waytogo:

Bad news in some ways but good news in others...

This project is going on indefinite hiatus due to recent house purchase. All my time will be going into making the c1500 more drive able and fixing up the house. I'll have plenty of storage down there so I do plan on keeping and finishing this down the road. Nows just not the right time.

boooooo!
Life gets in the way sometimes, but I hope you get a chance to finish this project sometime still.

Yes, this is a bummer to hear but congrats on the house:waytogo:. This is one build I'm really looking forward to seeing finished:popcorn:.

So I may have the Mercedes mill sold along with the toyota stuff. I got some interest off pirate at a pretty damn good price, I think I'll actually come out whole which is amazing to me.

Gonna see what the guy has to say but he was already asking about shipping.

That being said I know I could never get my money out of the frame its self, obviously the rears are worth something but the cab is like tits on a bull. Its a long way off but down the road it may just get a 4.8/nv3500/241 shoved in it. I would love to do a 4bt or 4bd but I dont think I'll have that kinda cash down the road.

The good news is Im going to use the money to buy baller ass heads for the shortbed!

Sooooo...life plans in the way or just on to a new project?

Well its a combination of things to be honest. Firstly was a little bit of regret with the engine choice. I never took overall dimensions of the motor vs the trooper. Basically it was going to be WAY more work than I really planned on putting into making the motor go in the damn truck. Then we bought the house and I knew the trooper would take a back seat for a long time. With the thoughts of commuting to work 30+ mins each way from my house in the country on the horizon I made the choice to invest in my 2wd short bed and make it daily driveable, which led me to the LS swap that became a full rebuild rather than a budget turbo on a junkyard motor.

So I need $2000 for my heads because in typical gearhead fashion I had to have more from my repower than whats in it now. Im trying not to eat up money that should be going into the house so I decided to entertain the idea of selling off the motor and toyota stuff. Same reason Im going to ditch the dart heads and intakes that I have on/for the SBC. I would have liked to keep the SBC out of the truck for a rat rod project but I think Im just gonna fog and shrink wrap the bottom end and sell the top end off to recoup some of the swap money.

Gotcha. Life works that way.

At least you can hold onto the frame and body and whatever else and keep it for later.

So Ive been having some thoughts about this lately. Im really considering ditching the trooper body and throwing an extended cab gen 1 s10 cab on it with a tube bed and cage and maybe a rooftop tent down the road. Im also pretty set the thing is going to get a S/C 3.8 with an nv3500 and np241 behind it.

If that were the setup I might actually be able to get it together before I moved to VA. A pick up cab would be way easier, as would the engine choice/fitment. Ive always wanted to build a tubed ext cab s10 after seeing a guy named Redder on pirate. Id probably put RCVs up front and throw some 35s or 37s on it. Packaging a fuel cell, tools, spare, etc would be way easier with a tube bed too.

Really just thinking out loud.
