Looks wise, it sure is bad ass looking with the wheels/tires and the full cap and clip.
I've found over the past years that I was doing things more for the "look" so to speak instead of the simplicity and functionality of what an Offroad rig should really be. Therefore the changes I'm currently making. Now I'm still going to be doing things for looks such as sectioning the fenders, to try and mix the two points. Functionality and looks. Hopefully it ends up turning out like the vision in my head but we shall see.

I saw your pictures on facebook and was like wtf are you doing? :haha: now I know for sure... Keep it up buddy :waytogo:

christmas in april!

more parts! ill let the pics do the talking mostly

all kinds of good stuff from ORD, Diy4x, and Ruffstuff!
ill go out on a limb and deffinitly say the drum brakes are shot!!:doah:

stripped down, just a bit of water got in...

:waytogo:

I see you have some spring perches on the ground. Decide not to use them?

I see you have some spring perches on the ground. Decide not to use them?

Bought them in case I needed to adjust my rear pinion angle due to running some longer rear shackles. Ended up still being OK so I didn't install them. I will end up changing it later on when I switch to 56 inch rear springs.

Where did you order the lights from?? Awesome K5!

LMC truck. i love the headlights and side markers... but the front turn signal lenses fell apart after a few days... pure junk.

Another update!
yes i have to update more often but i get so busy i have a hard time finding time. :dunno:
ok so i got alot done back towards the begining of the summer. one of the biggest upgrades that was needed was hydro assist!
everything apart to install the psc kit

the full kit with DIY4X's front diff cover

psc box installed along with ord's frame repair kit

pump installed

ram installed

resivoir installed on the engine cage

next was to install the full front clip

then i buttoned everything up and went to rausch!
first order of buisness was to properly label nicks truck

really digging having the full front end back.

little tight on trail 19

my buddy baker's setup (one day!)

then came some 35 spline stubs with drive flanges

next up was a local mud bug even which i entered into. surprisingly enough i ended up taking third place!

also finally got the fuel cell installed before the bog

during the mud bog i sucked the air cleaner closed yet again because of water. so i finally gave in a built myself a cheap snorkel
engine bay

exterior

i painted it black and called it good

soo after an interesting night at a bonfire at my friends house i woke up the next morning to find the blazer with a severe rod knock...:doah:
she sat for a few weeks until i stumbled upon a k5 in the local junk yard. truck was surprisingly rust free. it is an 87 factory 4spd with a tbi 350. and i found it before it was stripped of any parts. day later and money thrown around and it was home sitting in my driveway.

naturally it didnt take long for me to swap the tbi 350 into my truck. now my idea was that being they where both blazers, the donor an 87, and mine an 85(yes my truck started as an 85), that i would just completely swap out the harness's. theoretically a straight trade.
tbi interior harness

donor stripped dash

pcm

my truck stripped interior

motor pulled from donor

so i figured i would drop the trans and tcase out of my truck also while i was pulling the motor. well i discovered that the extension housing had taken some damage

sm465 out

np205 out

also picked up a set of windstar fans to really keep this new motor cool

sisters

blazer all squatted down so the engine crane could lift the motor high enough

tig welded bung for the 02 sensor

i converted to a 3 wire from a 1 wire because the 1 wire o2 would never get hot enough to put the motor into closed loop
motor dropped in

interior harness buttoned up

now i will have more pics of the tbi setup tmw when i get a chance to take some
i did return to the same junk yard that i bought the donor blazer from and found this....

yes it is a 74 full vert. it too is also a 4spd but instead of a 350 its got a 454:waytogo:
ill be headed back this saturday to see if they will be willing to get rid of it. if i did buy it then it would probably get cut up so to swap the windshield frame and cap to the black donor. the body on that 74 is very very very rotted and pretty much done. we shall see what happens. more updates tmw!:thumb:

nj's toughest truck challenge

so i buttoned up the tbi setup and went over the truck just in time for new jerseys toughest truck challenge at englishtown.
got a nice sponsor from a local towing company so i didnt have to tow the blazer to the event with the ford.

instead a rather nice kenworth w900 hauled us out.

here i am lined up for the course.... wasnt to happy bout the classing this year (was mostly based on tire size which as you can see in the next pic, put me up against Tim Diekmans ultra 4 car sitting right infront of me :dunno:)

unfortunatly for me one of my shift rails didnt engage properly when i shifted to 4lo. i ended up running the whole course in front wheel drive. was very dissapointing for me but apparently the crow loved it.
here are a few pics

and thats it so far. im waiting on the rain to stop to get some more pics of the tbi. next up is getting ready for rausch the 27 of september. plans are to twin stick, install antiwrap bar thats been sitting on the shelf, and rework exhaust. :thumb:
