more pics. The tube running along the top of the windshield frame runs exactly between the bolts that hold the top to the windshield frame so I can access the bolts from both sides of the tube with a socket to remove them for top removal. I have full view of the windshield except for the A frame supports.

where did you pick up those round mounting plates?? i like em!

I designed them myself and had mad4x4 make the 5" dia. top plates with a 2" hole in the for welding inside the tube, I had Kert at DIY make 6" round backing plates with no hole. I like the idea of 5 holes instead of 4. I had Kert make the 1/2 in holes small so I could match drill them for a perfect fit. There 1/4 thick. You can see in the 2nd pic I took the time to actually machine them on my lathe to fit the tube properly and sink into the 1/4 in plate 2/3 the thickness. It acts as a hard stop. I didn't use but four round ones so far, and I had to make some of myown, but thats fine. I have plenty for future cages.

why not just have one guy make them both for you so you don't have to do any drilling? i might steal your idea tho! i really like the round idea.

also, how does this work out with the bed... i mean, you've got high and low spots on the bed because of the "ribs" or whatever you call them.

Myown mounting plates. There's 1 1/4 X 6" spacers under it so I dont crush the sheet metal bed pleats. the 2nd pic is whats directly under neath, tied in to the rear structure.

I should have called Kert first, he was way cheaper. But I contacted mad4x4 cause they do custom work and placed an order with them. I did not get any with no holes and I should have, so Kert got the call for the ones with no holes. I did not know how well they would cut the holes, plus plasma cut holes bug me. You get an angular cut with a plasma. I like drilled holes.

Very Nice Cage. You have put alot of thought into it. Ditto on the round plates. Kert might be getting calls now about those plates.

Looks great, one question though, what about the tailgate latches? Not going to run one?

Thanks. I have a pick up tail gate on it, closes good. I will fabricate an Aluminum hard top window frame with a Lexan window that mounts to the hard top. I have had an idea in my head for some time but its ANOTHER project I dont want to start yet.

I hope to find a 75' top one day. They dont crack in the back corners like the 73'/74' tops.

How did I miss the p/u gate on it? Wow I must be blind :o

Thanks guys for the props. It will have cross bracing from side to side too, just not there yet. Right behind the front seats there will be an "^" or "V" from the B pillar to the floor. There will be bracing for the rear seats aswell. So it really wont be so open when its all said and done. I got lots of Triangulation to do yet. Still have to figure out access for rear passengers. Dont want it too difficult to get into the back seats.

that's the same concern i'm having with my cage plan - dunno how to make it easily accessible to the rear seats because i'm not willing to have a tilt forward front seat due to the fact that this would be a weak point in a roll for that front passenger... you should come up with something brilliant so i can copy! ;) my cage build will start later this month...

Actually what I am trying to come up with is an adjustable seat bracket system that will allow up and down aswell as front to back. Front to back is easy but the up and down is a bit more difficult. I have some ideas but nothing solid yet. remember it has to be stout, heavy duty. I also want it to be quick pin release type setup so you can adjust it easily while sitting in the seat.
