Rdn2blazer 73’ K5 build thread (random pics)

Awesome cage man!:bow: I would hate to guess how many hours you have in that thing. But it turned out sweet! Keep up the good work.

I wish I had your fab skills. I can't weld for crap. Truck looks great man.

Thanks man, and all for the props. I'm no pro welder either. Practice all the time if you can. Welding is the type of work where doing it all the time, you will get better and better. Welding around tubing is hard, especially small tube like roll cage tubing. Anykind of straight welding is easy.

quoted for truth! i've been trying to teach myself to be able to do tubing in 2 stitches, running from the top center to the bottom center. I'm not real good at it yet, so it ends up being either 3 or 4 stitches. It really stresses me out. The welds end up looking fine, but I sure wish I could do it in 2 simple stitches.

Any updates on this thing??:whistle::popcorn::popcorn::whistle:

DEAN!! Whats up? Well, unfortunately not since buying our house. Infact it's in a sad state really. Cage has gotten a little rusty in just a few spots. Nothing that can't be cleaned up though. My garage is the same as the day me packed it all in a year ago. My compressor is still not hooked up after a year in our house. I still work lots of OT on weekends. Have had ZERO time to do anything. This weekend I was planning on taking off and pulling everything out of the garage and at least organizing it, or trying to. Have not welded anything in a year as well. I'm sure I could lay down some sick bugger welds right about now :haha::doah:.

Yeah, I know. Right now it's kinda necessity. You know the first couple years are the toughest as far as money goes buying a home. We are doing fine, but without some ot it would be tighter then I would like. So, for now, I kinda got to do what I got to do ya know. I take some weekends off. I work two to three weekends a month, sometimes only a Sat. Mostly Sat & Sun though.
