Rear springs question turned into fuel tank discussion

What drive train (trans/t-case) are you running? CV rear axle? I don't think you could put it anywhere near the cab, I was referring to the bed floor.
Small block with a standard rear shaft 700 to a spaced back 205. Driveshaft will be a cv, t case is fixed yoke

Also thought about just mounting it aft of the rear axle but the short box means the tank would stick out farther than anything else.

What's the difference in the burb tanks length vs the K5?

Have you looked on Craig's for a small mig?

I ran 208 into my garage and picked up a free arc welder
Yeah, I have, but just like everything else in my life I have less free time than I need to research these things.

Only reason I ask is that I run the K5 tank in my short box K10. I relocated and inboarded the shocks to front side of the axle to make room for the tank out back.

Edit- 14BFF axle is hung dead center in the wheel opening and clears 37's

Get on "Stand tall" on FB and put a want to buy post for what you want.
Or fling money and buy new

On Stand Tall, and Colorado 4x4 yard sale, and 5280 krawlers, etc. And my wife hates it when I fling money...

The only reason I have much time to fool around on here is because of the nature of my job, I get paid to sit around sometimes.

Now that I am thinking about this it occurs to me that if I ditch the factory saddle tanks I will have room for 64 inch rear springs...

56s ftw.

In my build thread i went back and forth on putting the gas tank behind the cab. Im running the 31 gallon tank...im guessing thats what a sub runs. I wouldnt say its impossible but you lose an important crossmember and a great place to put a tool box, obviusly youd have to cut into the bed. I decided against it. Just too much of an important area. You'd have to contend with keeping the gas cool if your exhaust is run anywhere near it as well. I think, and i could be off but i plan on putting it behind the rear axle as best as i can, possibly sinking it level to the bottom of the chassis. Im finishing up the motor now but ill probably turn my attention to this within the next two weeks.

Offset. 26.5 and 31.5

Leaves the axle & front hanger in the stock location if you started with 52s

They made a 58?

I have 57" rear ford 2wd f150 springs in the back. With ruffstuff perches with 3 holes, I put the pin in the forward most hole and the axle is perfectly centered.

Actually looking like 58.5"
The year sets either side of these are very close in dimensions, varying by about an inch.
I used these in a stock perch centered to keep ~26" forward to the spring mount

Guess it depends on where you wanna get em from, order or junk yard. Decent window of availability

Nice that they are that close, can make minor adjustments without changing everything
