Rear springs question turned into fuel tank discussion

Guess it depends on where you wanna get em from, order or junk yard. Decent window of availability

Nice that they are that close, can make minor adjustments without changing everything

Dammit, 58.5 prolly coulda got me another inch of travel lol

My inner self told me.....

I you have to move the front hanger, you are linking it.

So that was the deal breaker lol.
That was where I stopped too, for the same reason!

I got those brand new springs shipped to my house for like $200. I figured id give them a try, and i have ABUSED them and am very happy with them.
Yeah, got a worn in set so they were already settled. If they die, I'm not pulling a set. They can just show up like yours...

Side note, mine have only settled about a half inch.

I think the air bumps and good shocks help that....

My last build was all beg borrow and steal. Been a lot more of phukit I'll order it this go. Wasted a lot less time in the junk yard.

I stopped wasting time along while back.

To me its worth the peace of mind to have new parts vs spending hours working with old parts....

@bent72 Are you wanting me to quit wasting time, 'cause trust me, I do too. Tired of digging myself deeper and making the list longer.

No, saying the observation being shared here is time is money. A lot of these things weren't possible when i built my K5 15 years ago. You had to hunt for stuff.
And i get the built not bought mentality. But rebuilding a $100 set of used springs when new ones show up for $200 saves a lot of time that is better used fabricating or assembling other things.

So yeah, buy stuff so you can wheel this thing. BB16 is less than 4 months out!

Problem is that money goes away a lot faster than time

Sucky huh? Just some things worth buying new

I do have a few people looking for a welder. Any way you can run it off the dryer feed when mamas not drying?

I paid $70 for my 57's and they were in great shape. I had never heard of the 57's on the 90's F150's when I ran across them at the pick and pull but a quick couple measurements and they looked like they would work. After I got them home and searched the interwebs I found them to be a somewhat common spring to use including @Avery4jc K10 and @sreidmx had them in the front of his rig :eek1:

That's what I do,when I need to crank my 220V Ac buzz box up over 75 amps,to weld thick stuff--I use a 8 gauge extention cord with the dryer plug on one end,and the correct outlet for the welder,on the other end..dryer outlet is only 30 amps, but so far I've yet to trip the breaker--the 220V circuit in the house garage for my compressor is only 20 amps, that'll trip the breaker if I crank the welder up over 70 amps, almost immediately..
