Don't you have an electronic speedo already? You should be able to tie into the VSS and not worry about losing the speedo under trees or in tunnels.

Moved everything out of the way for the first drive. Everything double checked. No leaks. Eileen was out to video for me.

Yep. That was a fail. No forward gears. Reverse is there and solid. I let it warm up fully. Pulled the fluid level check plug, nothing came out. So I added a quart. Ran it for 15 minutes. Went through the gears. No forward still. Pulled the plug and fluid ran out. So it was over full by about 4 ounces. Still nothing.

I threw in the towel and mowed the property until dark.

Juniors Corvette will be driven on HRPT.

That's a big kick in the nuts Wade...especially after how hard you've been working on this thing. Sorry to hear it!!

Ouch. That sucks. Crossing fingers for something simple like not seeing the range switch on the trans.

Can you run that with the harness/ecu that you have?
Short answer is yes. He did say he has a guy who can do some remote changes in the ecm. Not sure what besides shift tables would be different, or if he can push those in remotely

Should have a tone ring, probably different plug

Is this a transmission that will go manual 2nd gear with no electrical connected? That would verify its a harness or programming issue. The ECM and TCM are VIN matched and unless you know they're from the same vehicle and know what's been programmed, it's kind of guess work. If the programmer missed one of the items in the original vehicle (BCM? ABS?), you can have a perfectly fine drivetrain refuses to go.

I need to find someone to remote look at the VCM and TCM. Both are from the same truck as this engine and transmission. Supposedly, the TCM/transmission should have not needed any updates to run. I am getting so many conflicting comments here and and other places, nothing makes sense anymore.

I have started checking out HPA for some basic classes. With my brain being jacked up, I had a hard time following along. It is going to take some time.

Waiting for a call back from the only guy who has discussed this build with me over the phone. He called earlier, but I was in a holler and reception sucked.

Just talked to him. Waiting on the HP Tuners hardware to access the VCM and TCM. Everything I have done mechanically is correct. The jist is, the TCM is not the correct one from this transmission. So communication is non existent. Reverse is mechanical, that is why it works.

Cleaning the kids car tomorrow and checking fluids..

On the one hand, we all know how much effort (and $) it takes to get something like this running (especially on a deadline) and how much it sucks when new roadblocks pop up. :frown1:

On the other hand... "Oh no, I have so many extra cool vehicles on hand I can't figure out which one to take on a fun trip." ;)

So by my math, you're still blessed.
