Update.

Still goes backwards well. I took it to the Chevy guy who said he could flash the TCM to the transmission. Nope. His software mandates a BCM to access the TCM or ECU.

Finally talked to the original guy who was recommended to me, who never got back to me. He is sending an unlocked TCM for my transmission VIN.

Just checked tracking. It was supposed to be here Wednesday. Nope.

MONDAY, MONDAY, MONDAY. I might get to work on it before I start the new roof on the shop..
Are you about to start roofing in July?

I'll bet it's coming USPS. Good luck getting an accurate delivery date.

Some days I wonder if I should be doing this stuff.

Pulled the TCM out of the truck. Looked at the label on the back. It is a T87A. Per the transmission tag, it should be a T87. The T87A is 2017 and later. The tag on the transmission is date coded 2016. Engine is definitely 2017, due to the 3 wire fuel rail sensor. Pre 2017 were 4 wire. So this transmission was in a 2017 truck, probably assembled in 2016 for 2017 year model.

I glanced at the plug after I pulled it. This might have been an issue. It never occurred to me to check for this.

I will in the future.

I fixed it. Installed it. Fired the truck up. HAS FORWARD GEARS.

One stupid little pin kept me from driving on Power Tour.
