My first thought was by the marker lights. But GM always put the badging at the back of the fender. Looks funny on this.
Vettes have at rear of fender, Chevelle and Imps were at front

So what generation 454 was in there? Finally was able to check the MPG. The truck was leaning passenger side down, so it probably took a little extra. All local driving and might have had a few, ok, a lot, of spirited driving. The math says 12.7mpg. Much better than the 454 that was at 4.5mpg.
Probably makes more power as well. Finally was able to check the MPG. The truck was leaning passenger side down, so it probably took a little extra. All local driving and might have had a few, ok, a lot, of spirited driving. The math says 12.7mpg. Much better than the 454 that was at 4.5mpg.
Well with the 8 speed you don't need as much power to do the same thing.Probably makes more power as well.
Definitely the worst combination.1980s peanut port with a stupid thumper cam. About as bad a combination could be. Th400 in a 5500 pound brick.
All 454's should be bored and turned into race engines. I like this small block.
Rear tires have less traction with this setup. I'm not sure what would cause that.Probably makes more power as well.
still better than my 8.1 nv4500 4.63 gear 8,400 lb truck gets around 9-maybe 10 empty .Finally was able to check the MPG.
