ReTonkulous

Utlilmaster P30
He has done that for the invite trucks. But does not advertise it that way. He asked me to be a part of the Friday night down town shenanigans. I would not get out of there until after mmidnight. Not my thing anymore.

I spent some time fixing some new switches that quit working on the truck. Cheap junk push button units. Disassembled and corrected. The cut outs were missing one feed wire for the controler. I did not write that one in the schematic when I took it apart. 1.5 hours to figure that out. No schematics online for it. switch the left/right turn signal indicators on the dash. I wired them backwards. Easy fix.
I have been wanting to add cruise control and tap shift to the truck. Finally did some research last night while I wasn't sleeping. Dakota Digital has a GM Gen V controller for cruise. Found a guy who has come up with a module to add the tap shift. I contacted him to ask a questions. Evidently, we had a long conversation on Power Tour 2023. :dunno:

The Truck had zero computers when I bought it.
Now......
ECU
TCM
Gauge controller from OBD2
HVAC unit
Tunes
Dash and rear camera
Cut outs
Cruise Finally installing tonight.
Tap shift Will be here Monday.

Thats 9 controllers of some kind. What was I thinking?

Windshields and right window are out of it now. Had new made. First gasket I ordered was wrong. We will try to install during the snow storm that won't be here this weekend.

Gettin to work on my junk finally.

Cruise is in. Have not tested it yet. That is tomorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrow. (Sorry, R key sticks :haha: )
All of the switches work again. One failed and a voltage reducer died.
Added the constant hot wire to the cutouts that I forgot. Took 2 hours to figure that out.:doah:
Lowered the rear view mirror so I do not have to look up to see the camera feed.
Lowered the rear camera so the view is not 1/2 filled with wing.
Connected the one HVAC duct that fell off.
Switched the turn signal indicators so they blink on the correct sides.
Put a dome light in.
Right door glass and new regulator in. It sucked, as no one makes a right side, 25" stroke regulator. I used a left side, cut it apart and turned everything around. Spaced the door panel out 1/2" to clear everything. Then the window would not roll down. Took me drilling out the door panel rivets multiple times, to figure out the center of the panel in not in line with the window tracks. Also, trying to find 1-3/8" long rivets locally is a no go. Slotted the bolt holes. Installed everything lose. Rolled the window down and tightened the regulator bolts. Works slick now.

Just a lot of nuisance stuff fixed.

Need someone to laser cut you the letters for RETONKULOUS out of 1/4", and tig weld them to the tail gate. So that it looks like they were stamped in :thumb:

I thought about bead rolling it in. But we have a sticker guy on here. I might have had him make to big.

Yeah, I was just thinking some big black vinyl letters would be just fine lol
