Backseat looks like it was made to be there.
coughWell, I finally scored the seats I have been wanting.
I had looked at 3 different sets of seats that I found on Craigslist, first was a set of black leathers out of an Acura, WAY too petite for a full size and they were in crappy shape. Second, a full set of seats out of an '02 Burb. The owner took pics of the seats at night, which made them look charcoal black, when I asked, owner said "yeah, they are super dark gray, basically black...." I get there and the seats are slate gray.
Then there were these..... as they say, third time is the charm. Black leather buckets out of an early 2000's C class Mercedes. They are in near perfect shape and hug me really well, which is what I was looking for. Something more sporty than the old blazer seats, but not to petite where they look goofy and are uncomfortable in a full size.
They are going to be pretty easy to adapt to my floorpan, and they are half power, half manual. I still don't have a plan on the rear seat, I doubt I could make the C class rear work because it's not an assembly, and it's 54" wide, but I am thinking that possibly a good apholstery guy could use the leather from it and do my stock blazer rear seat with the material.
Oh, and I talked the guy down to $200 for everything.![]()

Somewhere to the north and slightly to the east.....This thing is looking incredible! I know it's not everyone's style but I like it.
I know you're here in the valley but I've never figured out where. We need to do a meet and greet sometime over some lunch so I can check out those comfy lookin' seats in person.![]()

I never post my location on the internet, unless I have my tinfoil hat on of course.
If you happen to need to come north a little under two hours, PM me and we can hook up.Thanks VERY much. The top is still behind my shop with moss growing on it.My 3 favorite trucks on here are this one, Ryokens, And Greg72s.
But who knows when theirs will be done lol.
But i absolutely love it. You ever puttin the top on or is it stayin off??
I will eventually paint it, simply because it's "part" of the truck, but I have full intentions to be one of the first customers to buy one of the new Skyler tops coming out this spring. If I really like their product, the hard top will likely never go back on.After putting some miles on this K5 again, I forgot how bad it really is on gas, not to mention that it's a dog compared to my diesels I'm used to, even with the 406ci. I'm already thinking I might bring it down and change tire sizing.
Right now I'm thinking swap out my 6" lift for a 2.5" lift, and go with a Weld Outback (outbacks prefered) 16.5x12 on a 33x14.50 SSR. If I could score 17x12's that would be awesome but they are hard to come by.
Combine less lift and less rolling stock with 4.88 gears, more motor, and this K5 could turn into a quick little sucker and be REAL fun to drive.
................... Just sayin, it would be cool. After putting some miles on this K5 again, I forgot how bad it really is on gas, not to mention that it's a dog compared to my diesels I'm used to, even with the 406ci.
