Here's Teck's pic via TT.

Can you see it meow?

Yep! Thanks. Hey Teck, it looks like you kept the stock radiator, what top hose did you use?

Thats easy then.

Found out today I'm not getting a set of Tilden Motorsports long tube headers, they are back ordered for months I guess. I'm getting a set of Doug Thorley headers.

i've -heard- doug thorley don't fit... i don't know that for a fact though. i read it in another LS swap thread once. i am really trying to find that thread for you! i do remember it was an LQ4 swap into a chevy k10, like an 84 or so.

i DO know me and teck both have street and performance LS swap headers.
they fit like a glove for me, and look great.

also have 02 bungs, and v-band clamps.

Still waiting for my engine to be ready for pickup. I did find out that I'm getting a 2001 LQ4 with 6X,000 miles. Makes life easier as far as the TV cable is concerned.

Feeling pretty dissapointed right now. My engine was supposed to be ready today, but found out that they built the wrong wiring harness for the engine. The engine originally chosen for me was a drive by wire, but then someone decided to put an earlier intake/throttle body from an '01 with a DBcable to make life easier for me with the 700R4. Except that no one tells the wiring department/guy and they make a DBW harness for the engine. Now they are saying they need another two weeks to make another harness.

I ordered this on Dec 30th. I was told 2-2.5 weeks for pick up. This is looking like middle of Feb, a 6 week time frame. Not very happy at all. On top of that I'm starting to get busy with work as spring is around the corner here, I may not even have time at this point to even get this engine installed until next fall now. Pretty irritated. I think I would have done something else, knowing I had to wait this long for a take out engine.

Not only that, but they can't seem to tell me, or know what year the engine actually is. First they said it was an '01, but that can't be right if they had to pull a DBW setup off of it to install a DBC setup. Then they said, "well it's an '01 intake/throttle body", but can't seem to relay to me info on the long block.

Hmm that's not too cool. Maybe you can tell them that for the headache and hassle they can do the install them selves?

If it's just the wiring harness get the engine and install it, exhaust etc. and have them either ship the harness of pick it up later. Lot of work to get done without the harness.

Sucks, because I know the guys and that you spent added money to make this easy.

This is a hard time of the year to hold lead times for any kind of offroad business. Seems the last minute I need this keeps popping up for that little get together in the So Cal desert next week.

Sorry to hear that. If they can't confirm what year the motor is, I would definitely make sure they can prove that it is a low mileage motor. Just to be safe.

Maybe they can send you the engine without the harness for now?? [emoji53]

I am supposed to go and actually see this engine run on their engine stand. Just a reminder, I am going to pick this up in person, not being shipped out. They said they would be just leaving the wiring harness on the engine when I come to get it. That sounds good to me, the less I have to do the better. I want to just pick up everything up at once, see the engine run so that there are no issues with the programming/harness. I know how this kind of stuff goes.... somewhere, somehow something always goes wrong that is something stupid. That was all part of spending extra money on a "turn key" setup is I don't have to waist time fetching crap from here and there, and then sort through all the stupid crap that comes up that I really just don't have time for.

Ah heck, maybe this will be the "stupid crap" part of this project. Pacific Fab does have a great reputation, so more than likely I will eventually, one day (:haha:) get to pick up my stuff and everything will go smooth. I'll slam it in and be running. I guess if it went like that I could deal with a long wait as the "stupid crap" part. I do think I might call tomorrow though and ask how many hours it takes to make a harness up, and why I have to wait 2 more weeks for it.

In all honesty, just based on my experience with those harnesses, if they were making it from scratch, it should take no more than 2 days. Rewiring from used should be no more than one day. That's assuming they assign someone to work on that task for 8 hours a day.

Pacific fab took the time to call me and give me some more info. I have an 04 6.0 with less than 65k on it. That is pretty great! They apologized for the harness misshap. All in all I still think I made the right decision going with pacific fab that is a really low mileage engine and the install should go smoothly.
