is there any way to change the material? Im building the rest of my cage out of 1 5/8s dom. My personal experiance is notching a smaller tube to fit on a larger tube is a fail. Like I said just my .02. Plus I would think 1 5/8s would bring the cost down unless you had to special order it.

1 5/8" DOM is a special order thing. I'd imagine it'd be the same for HREW.

So what would that do to the price? Can you check for me? I'm trying to decide weather to start with your kit or start from scratch.

I was going to ask about HREW. I was thinking about going this route to save the material cost a bit. But special order will probably kill it.

We built my brothers drag car cage out of 1 5/8" stuff, Mostly due to trying to keep weight down but it was more expensive than the 1 3/4" and took a bit longer to get.

Just not the norm for sizes.

And now I have a 1 5/8" die for the bender that I may never use again.

I just bought 100 feet of 1 5/8s dom last weekend for 300 bucks. thats why I went that size.
