Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

... it's more a question of how many...

Be careful asking CK5'ers about quantity. What's the thing about three alternators being excessive, but two is just good planning?

And lighting, well, for me anyway, it's hard to have too much :D

I think you need to do the cheap adhesive LED strip lighting in the toolbox drawers.

A bit much? Really? Since when did that become a factor?:D

I know, right... :haha: nah, just looking at proportions, and trying to keep the idea that it's too many or too large of lighting, as some have mentioned, in my head too...

it's easy to lose perspective sometimes... as of now, the creative, in your face Ryoken says "go for #1, it'll look badarse"

and the weenie, conformist Ryoken says to go with the "safe" #4 look... :doah: :haha:

wait, is this a Rob Lowe Direct Tv Commercial? :haha:

and thanks... the sad part is, this is the easy part.. spending money and making that panel are the challenge... :doah:

I'm thinking similar..... :D

that'll be a bit down the road tho.. when I do the dual batteries in the ps underbox... I'm probably not gonna even hook the winch up till I do that...

but once I design that system, having the rig's electrical stem from that area, those items will fall in place..

How about #4 with maybe one more red housing. Gives you more reds to have sequential. :deal: Could do 3 outers as the sequential turn then the one inner next to the backup as an all time brake/running light.

I was thinking of the sequential turn signals...I seem to recall someone over on thirdgen.org selling or maybe a company selling a "kit" to do it on the Trans Ams. (I've contemplated doing it on my T.A.) Let me try and find that kit....it's a little box if I remember correctly. Should be easy to convert to your needs if you went that route.

I'm not opposed to that idea.. i'll go take a pic with an extra red...

I like 4. But I also agree one more light might look better. Whether its amber or another red.

Also number 4 with another red would be tits to get a control box for that makes them like in sequence from the inside out like mustang lights. Ok no you gotta do that. That would be sweet.

I wouldn't do 4 by adding an amber..

but I do REALLY like the spacing of 5...

here it is with 4 red....

I think I would only do it if I can figure out a way to get sequential... which could be way cool, and make up for no ambers... I'll go look at that link, etc...

man, my camera is fubar'd.. super hard to get it to work right anymore.. been dropped one too many times.... kinda like baby Ryoken..... :doah:

hmmm, only issue at this point is that Austin guys STS only does 3 bulbs per side.. more digging/info is needed, needs to be that 4... :pimp:

Wouldn't you need one of the 4 to be a full time brake/running? Not terribly familiar with how the factory cars (Stangs) that have it work. That way both sides of the truck are alerting of a brake while the side you're turning towards is providing turn signals on the remaining 3 lights. :dunno:

Guess I should pay more attention to turn signals and such... Rarely see them anyways since most people around here seem to forget what they are for.

I could do #4 with just the 3 reds with sequential.. that could be cool.. and not overly circus-y to the casual observer.....

ooooo, wait, I think the new challengers use a 4 bulb controller...

The first link I gave you, has the STS-4 that is used for 4 bulbs per side. If you click on the Sequential Turn Signals link on the left side of their page under Welcome, then scroll down some till you find the universal kits and click the more detail link it is under that. The universal kit is under the black impala picture and next to the white Fiero picture.

bingo.. see it.. $79

wow.. that could be pretty freakin cool... :ears:

next question, would I have to have third brake light?

I'm 100% fine with that, other than the fact I just installed a giant spare making it an issue finding a spot for it.... :doah: :haha:

I "think" its federal law...cause in 86' I know for a fact that's when the Camaros/Firebirds started the 3rd brake light because of some federal rule.

Now....could you get away with not having one? Perhaps
