Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

Glad to see your CC is in the works! Cant wait to watch the build-up, especially since im doing mine at the same time. You always have great ideas!

thanks for the interest boys.. I am excited and will be bangin on it the day it arrives... :deal:

some other notes..

I'm finally gonna put together my dual stock air cleaner assembly for this rig... 2 rad support air feeds.. my york will be going in...

:haha: I never thought to confirm with Issaam if it had air.. I just assumed it did cuz he said it was loaded.. :doah:

drivetrain will stay pretty stock for quite some time.. other than maintenance and upgraded parts, no major changes for awhile.. maybe the cummins/5spd down the road. maybe... or maybe a roller 496 and NV4500... whatever comes up..

I'd really like to move both axles forward a couple inches when I lift it... front i have a plan, back is undecided at this point...

Its ok man, you're among friends. The first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem.....:waytogo:

Is there a 12 step for what we have. I always kind of think of this site as group therapy.

1. Pay $25 dollar membership to ck5.
2. Openly admit in group you have a problem (lounge).
3. Buy some rusted hulk with grand desires.
4. Empty bank account and dedicate future paychecks.
5. Apologize for late nights and weekends dedicated to said scrap pile.
6. Find spot in garage (hopefully between studs) to beat your head.
7. Apologize for throwing wrenches, tools, parts and yelling at girlfriend, wife, dog.
8. Knowing how to find the weak parts in the driveline on the trail (then refer back to #7).
9. Rust and what to do about it.
10. Promising this will be the last one and then ordering another from California (Hehehe).
11. The guilty feelings for not working on it.
12. Done? What is this done you speak of? (Hehehe)

Sorry hijack off. I thought it kinda fit. And am I ever guilty off it all.

well, obviously I suffer from that tendency more than many.... I'm the guy who color sands and buffs firewalls and absurdity like that.... :doah: :haha:

what I meant was a custom format.... cummins, etc... no down time for fabbed x-members, waiting on driveshafts, etc... no doubt as I do maintenance and repairs, I'll upgrades parts here and there... any hotrodder does that, sheesh... :haha:

apparently my shipper is a douche and caught Issaam off guard, wanting to pick the damn thing up today... think they are gonna get it done tomorrow.. little annoyed at that, monday was fine with me and I felt that should give Issaam enough time... now i'm sure he's scrambling... my apologies brother...

ANd yes it has A/C.
ANd I guess it didn't matter the air cleaner has seen better days since you will be replacing it.:thumb:

Wow if I had a girlfriend & wife and a K5....I would be broke all the time too. LOL! Good stuff!

I loooked at doing this on my crew but with the larger wider radiator the air feed on the drivers side is obscured.

well, that sucks...

I gotta go hang in the attic and look around, I've got 2 rigs worth of stuff up there.. I also have a couple interesting BB sets of marine valve covers up there somewhere..

picked out a paint color today...

it's pretty much the red that my K5 cage is... a red orange.. it's a fleet color, so no fancy name, it's referred to as "red" :haha:

It's funny to me that without any actual build pics, and in fact, without yet having truck in hand, this thread is already awesome!
