Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

:haha:

just ordered the other door (wont dropship to me till 8/3..) the 2 filler necks and gas caps..

another $257 rubles...

After your thousands of $$$ and hours, I have one question.

Wheres the stripper pole mount?

Bitches be flocking to that rig, then when you add a dog, game over man.
(Or game on, depending)

All joking aside, looks absolutely killer.

Good god did you switch from whiskey to meth.....
Ya kinda went all squirrel on us in the last 15 posts.

And then you spent the hooker money on a fill door. Wow thats a lot to take in, but like where its going.

So after reading all that and thinking about it what if...

1 You mount the hi lift up under the rear bumper/tube out of the way

2 Do the same king of expanded metal/mesh in the c hoop to protect anything from going through your rear window and make a "rack" of sorts to mount things.

3. Really like the idea of the signage on the side of the doghouse on the rearward facing side. (You know to traffic behind you)

4. Gantry lift crane is an awsome idea. Just saw some in new magazine called wheels afield they use them for loading and skinning deer and elk into trucks. Folds up small and looks decent. I bet you could fab one up making it yours in no time and should be able to handle 1000# plus. I will look to see what the brand is so you can check it out.

5. Another thing to consider is an electric generator for 120 power (think big inverrter) i need one in my rig for job site power but smaller than a gen set may be able to fit in your battery box. Use it for charging battery tools, run a sawzall, compresser, yada....
You can get them to run up to 3000 watts or so

Nice work on this thing. I looks great

If he puts in the crane, I want a small shark cage also! It could come in handy if repo'ing a boat from the water...go check out the hull..etc..etc..:D

Paul should just steal ideas and build one. Because well, he can!:D

actually I've had my own original design for a long time... fug store bought... i'll do ms paint pics of it tonight....

pic updates coming up......

An "A" frame type would be kinda awesome. Have some pivots in the back tubes and have it lay up front by the tire when not in use. couple of small hydraulic rams swing the A frame for/aft. Can hang a winch or pully off that.

Josh

it's gonna be a single tube, that mimicks the ds angle tube... it will bend down that last 6" to 8" like the existing one, and pivot on the that vertical... think just a 8" tube in tube pivot...... it will sit just inside, and rearward of the existing one... so it can swing parallel and lock next to that one...

I'll work on a drawing after din din.... and bourbon....

my first Al beads... be nice..... :haha:

I'll get to that next weekend... and start making the recessed fill "boxes"... get the doors in, yada...

the boom will sit, stowed here.....

tube, in tube for an extendable boom.. pinned... 2" main outer, 1.75 slide out...

welded tube in tube for the short, spinny section... spinning in a larger, heavy wall outer tube mount..

can't conceivably mount a long hi-lift anywhere in/under the back.. especially once I do the bolt-in aspect of the receiver tube part... it really needs to go on the ps angle tube.... I'm thinking hi-lift on one side of the tube, and an axe/shovel mount on the other, underside...

2 Do the same king of expanded metal/mesh in the c hoop to protect anything from going through your rear window and make a "rack" of sorts to mount things.

not ruling that out.... I do like having the back of the cab exposed... this will kinda depend on how I want to build the kennel... it may be the easiest solution to screening the window, as the sides will have... but it is all predicated on what works for the pooch... not protecting my knoggin... :haha: :woot: :doah:

looking at the doghouse on, that front/rear is SCREAMIN for the mallard logo!!!

one reason to consider the whole thing in vinyl.. far superior on alum... and really, all I would consider...

I'm hoping to set up an alt/welder/power supply on it when I put the Cummins in..

tank ya kindly.... always appreciate your insight! :waytogo:

Since you can see daylight through the front corner radius of the bed, have you thought about making that a storage area for things like Johnson bars, large pry bars, etc?

negative ghostrider... :D it will just get the curved facia al panel out of 1/8"... really no way to do a curved compartment door there remotely easy...... not worth the 6" x 6" x 30" deep hole... I'm gonna have 3 of the drawer bins that are 30 long front to back... and factor in the under hanging boxes, and mud skins too.. lot of stuff still flyin!! :woot: :doah: :haha:

I'm just in no rush to make those.. I can't really install them till I pull the bed.. and that will be putting the new tank in.... every bit of 2 months, if not 3... need to have them pretty much finished/bent up for that day tho..

I expect to install the tank and those panels.. and have the bed reinstalled before the end of the day when I do it...

thanks :D

I'm stoked to be doing alum projects!!! I've ALWAYS loved it's soft workable properties... it's so hard NOT bringin parts thru a super shiney buffed bling... :haha: satin suits Mutt tho... :pimp:

can't wait till next week! :woot: build the 2 recessed boxes and stuff... only gonna weld the backside on those I think.. we'll see how it goes..
