it's good to be motivated again, expect some serious time to be devoted to the rig over the next few months... not all of those will be interesting updates, but hopefully I can do some cool fab work in short order too.... :pimp:

the first couple weeks the rig is here will see a flurry of activity just to get her on the road legally...

in hindsight.... now that this rig has come up, and with the matching corresponding red orange, I wish I had picked the K5's color out in Imron, like I did this one.. and shot all the K5's red in Imron.... Than I could have just bought GALLONS of the same color and it would really match rig to rig.... the K5's cage color is Imron clear over Rustoleum's red/orange... but the Imron I picked is pretty balls on to it...


with the black and Alum flatbed, it should be relatively obnoxious coming down the street...

While you wait it gives you a chance to work on your jello molds.

So now we have Ryoken green and Ryoken red. Two more colors and we call dupont or house of color for a product placement deal or even sponsorship. I see a whole new line coming out in the fall...:D

cuz ! can keep the cost down a bit by going single stage solid, as opposed to the base/clear copper metallic of the K5... plus some of the interior will stay red for a while as it gets swapped to black, so keeping something of a red makes that look less retarded too...
 
i think it'll look good with the K5 cage, etc picking up the CC color when being towed... doesn't much matter anyway...
 
Has your mouth begun to water yet? The buzz around here is tremendous. I have a great respect for what you can pull off in what seems like no amount of time. But belive me I know the effort you put in to the customization (from thought to reilization).

We are finally laying paint on the stearman (tear down 29 years ago)and Dad says while we are at it lets finish the '52 truck too (80% complete prior to plane). Cab, fenders, hood is painted in laquer. All that was left was the bed to paint. Now its a tear down to repaint cause the paint oxidized a little and can't get the same paint as before. So paint it all again. Didn't see that coming, but glad to see it getting done.
 
I think the red will look cool. Then paint the tubing on the bed your makin with the copper color on the k5:whistle:.... That would look snazzy when towing the k5.
 
if i was gonna do something like that, I would just copy the K5.. paint the sheetmetal copper, than have the tube bed red/orange with alum panels....

I don't see why the crew cab has to match the K5, I mean yeah it's cool but then you want to tow your boat and it doesn't match, where does it stop, do you color match anything you own?
If you were made out of money maybe yes, but us commoners can't afford to do that.:whistle:
 
Lol you guys are funny. I don't think he has any real desires to match the two. It was just convenient that the red will happen to match the cage. Sorry to speak for you ryoken but that's my take on things. I think I'm right. Right?

it's all good.... I wouldn't want to do the CC the copper anyway... that copper paint runs like $400+ a gal just for the base these days... :eek1: it is just convenient dumb luck that's it's gonna match the K5 cage....

plus I think the red cab, black tube bed (which is vastly easier to do than a color) and alum plates will look real good.. and it's not like it's gonna be towing the K5 often, or even in the near future... few yrs down the road when I actually get a trailer, the occasional distant wheeling, sure...

i just got an e-mail from the initial company montway transport... but they are just like a middleman.. they said the 30th.. i really hope this guy delivers it friday... i really could use the weekend to work on it.... but it's all useless without the title...
