the K5 was going to be my first forray into them.. I've seen em tho, they're small..
 
I have seen the thread on your k5 and it is impressive! Once I get my CC ready for tow duty, im going to start back in on the K5, and steal some of your hard work engineering to do mine! I have the windstar fans, and gauges just gotta find the time now!

construction is done.. decided to throw a resin coat up top for some added durability.... i'll douche the whole thing in flat black tonight if it dries up enough....

I'm gonna work on the taillights, plate holder and mudflaps now...
 
oh, and i just ordered a bunch of different reflective black/yellow striped sticker stuff for the edge... :haha: :woot: :pimp:

Looks good. Did you use Gluvit for the resin coat? I have had good luck with that product in a variety of applications.
 
nah, Gluvit's epoxy based... if i was looking to coat the whole thing, than black, that would have been ideal...

I just did the top to give it a solid base so the black wont soak in so much... it's just a slightly thinned poly resin...

I always like working in wood, so much easier than steel... as a skater I've built many a giant 1/2 pipe over the years in addition to my marine background..

I think it is time to incorporate some woodwork into your customizing....maybe some Koa or bird's eye maple...my old vocational Agriculture teacher would be proud....he and Homer Formby....mighty proud...:haha:
 
I'm surprised you didn't build it out of some leftover teak from some yatch remodel :haha:
