Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

The new tires are going to change the whole look....amazing what new tires can do for the overall "posture"...

I still say you need the nude girl on the mudflaps...:eek1:

Its "Chrome Ladies". They deserve some respect to. Thats like calling the Jaws shark just a fish.:haha:

Looking great man. I hope to see a plate on there soon. And you still have the weekend to tighten things up and get it ready for inspection. Any thing to do on the interior? Or whats next on the fix it front. Sounds like you got it running good.

my bad :haha:

Are you going to put on a Jayne Mansfield bar?

I'd really like to shorten it up maybe 3 or 4"s, but I have to keep in mind I wanna run a fifth wheel, and the fuel tank wants to push that back already.. so realistically, it'll probably be just a couple inches... the frame length is pretty set, it'll be about 2 or 3"s shorter, which means the bed length will be about what it is there..

it's just the wheels will be moved up about 2"s on the bed.. which it could use, i like the "tire in the cut corner, "flap right behind the tire" thing I have going on, and it will continue with the tube, but the tires are a bit close to the flap area, could use the forward movement a bit...

nope, she's still running a bit rough.. I've had the exhaust manifolds ripped out the last couple days.... doing all 3 mounts and putting in the manifolds this weekend... I'll get the running bugs worked out early next week...

and yeah, I'm pushing my luck every day running the Nogo... she needs to be out to marina pasture...

Speaking of manifolds....my new manifolds say "For optimum sealing the vehicle manufacturer recommends not using a head-to-manifold gasket"

What's up with that?

A lot of models didnt have gaskets. I dont know about all tbi's but all the ones I have had are gasket less and I havent had leak issues.

i've yet to ever see a gasketless exhaust port.. the manifold to head gasket on this thing where FREAKIN TOAST.. blowing out 3 ports, SUPER thin, to the point the back manny bolts where loose... couple busted studs on the donut...

the old manifolds can actually be salvaged with some time and studs... just went with a new pair of dormans, new bosch O2, new mounts..

still have to figure out why the motor has a water temp sender in each head.. ds, unhooked up.. should just be a pipe plug... the CTS is up in the manifold...

this thing also has what appears to be a crank trigger...

according to my calculations, a 255 is about 3/4" wider than a 235.... which split that in 1/2 is 3/8th's more on each side.. throw the dually factor in, back up to 3/4" tighter in the middle...

right now, the 235's appear to have about 1 1/4" between em.. so that puts em a 1/2" away from each other with no spacers... i could run a 1/4" one to bump that up to 3/4" or so....

I'm really looking for the diameter more than pushing the stock dually width limits.... a 33" with that 9.3 section width would be fine by me...

1/2" is nothing on a dually. I think I would spring for a 1" spacer.

But you can obviously drive around with them like that, just might not be able to put much of a load on em.

2" just seems excessive for what I'm doing.. think i'll get the 255's on, and see how much it wants... a 1" seems like it would be optimum...

At 600 bones you could look into new wheels with diffrent backspacing and possibly get your clearance that way.

$320 I would consider.. 600, no... it's not only changing the backspacing, but the rim width too for running meats... eventually I want Kerts widened rims, so i'd rather put $600 towards that...

i'd be content trying out one of the 1/4" spacers on the existing studs, but they hurt at $150 on that first link.. seems a bit much for a single flat piece, unlike an actual 2" spacer assembly... $50 seems more in line to what they would be worth....

Does Kert have the capacity to make some of these out of steel? That seems like a ton of coin for a piece of metal with some studs in it. Doesn't seem like there would be THAT much machining involved to make them:dunno:
