not a ton.. but we have a few... those are the same numbers that could be said for most marina's.. our insurance guys small, first boat, is a 1998ish 24 Cobalt with a single BB in it.. pretty nicely made boats.. good fit and finish and usually HIGH quality components and materials...
that's where they seem to shine more, that 21 to 27 range... anything bigger than that and they become much more mediocre and fall into the imitation sundancer, express cruiser category.. like the 34 above... some others in that category are Cruisers, Rinker, Bilgeliner....

oh, our insurance guys other boat, that I just painted the blue hull on is a 2010 Formula 37PC like this...
before that it was a 50 Sunseeker.. gelcoated the whole fore deck on that...

iirc, the 50 seeker, british btw, was in the 1/4 million range.... that can REALLY vary depending on yr, etc.....

can be like a million new these days.. but you could buy a 1995 for like 100 g's...
on the other end, that 34 Formula i put the 454's in, can be bought in the 50 g range...

oh yeah, there's a lot of guys in our economic range I'll say, getting by in a 21 to 27 boat maybe.. but you better love it and live the lifestyle, cuz it will cost ya money.. on average 3 g slip fee, storage, minimum maintenance, let alone fuel to use em, etc... they say, you should plan on 10% of the boats value, in maintenance, storage, etc a yr...

I've got an older Mohawk fiberglass canoe and 2 cheapy kayaks, that's about as far into boating as I'll be going, unless of course I hit the lottery

I don't and never have lived close enough to decent water to justify one, mx bikes and sport or drag bikes have always been my weakness.
I am getting excited about a boat lately, my buddies brother has a 30 something fountain, twin SC'd 502's, it been apart getting heads swapped and different exhaust for the last 2 years in his shop. My buddy has been finishing it himself and hopes to have it wrapped up next month, I definitely want to go for a spin in that

Years and years ago, a former neighbor had a little 19' jet boat, 468 BBC, big a** exhaust sticking up and back, all kinds of cool engine goodies etc......went out on that a few times .....IIRC we went 65-70 , that seemed FAST, fastest I've ever been on the water for sure. !!!!! Can't wait to go out on that fountain, Ben (the owners brother) will run the snot out of it without a doubt
That's good to hear, I've done a lot of thinking about what I want out of a boat/whats practicle and I think I'm going to stick with a trailerable 24'-27'. Cobalt, Formula, and Eastern being at the top of my list.

I used to see some boats like that when I worked at Winters.. we had alot more "classic" styled boats, couple Fortiers.. older johnsons, CC's, etc... I know the name, but remember, I'm not gonna see a ton of new england smaller boat makers.. tho I did work for Hinkley, which is that kinda market...
it's hard to beat Sea Ray's for general overall, resale, quality, etc.. I know it's not very "original", but.....

Definately a cabin, I've almost swamped my little bowrider a few times taking waves over the bow and into the boat. Plus I'd like to take it to the islands for over nights.
Surprised to hear good things about Sea Ray, I always thought they were cookie cutter crap, but I don't have any experience with them. My dream boat is pretty much a Hinkley, now if only I could afford one...

ugh... man, i hate that company.. the boats are kinda neat and somewhat innovative here and there.. generally pretty good quality and components.. but they are monstrorously overpriced and needlessly complicated... we call em the champagne sippers...
the joystick jet drive stuff is pretty neat, has a few plus's, but has a few neg's too.. friggin 10 grand Rolls Royce computer in the older Dinckleys to control that stuff...
never forget the day we got a 38 convertable in... it has a freakin convertible top... hydro pumps, cylinders, stainless frame, etc... it's pretty freaking cool looking, but oh, my, god, what a mechanics nightmare system...
eh, for that 21 to 50 range, Sea Ray tends to consistently be the above average boat the other wannabes try to be.. every family wants a 34 Dancer...
I'll try to think of a suggestion for ya, but there are lots of good choices below 27..... keep in mind, some 27's will trailer VASTLY better than others..

97% stripped... bit of blasting tomorrow on the jambs, some minor metal/mud work, than some RG, 2k and RR.....

I would order from Classic Parts for that stuff long before I would ever order from LMC for that stuff again. Not real happy with the pieces I got from them most will all be replace before long. Fit on most sucks and the quality isn't any better. And mine stay inside most of the time.

i'd love to get all 3 trimmed and installed by next weekend, but I'll need all the door stuff prior, and I really need to finish picking up the rest of the lift, x-over parts first.. that has priority over body work with the finances.. bodywork is just a time filler...
