as you can see, i'll be doing some panel painting on this rig with it being a DD'er and solid color.. once all the sheetmetal has been stripped and brought thru an initial red, I may go in at the end and give it a nice block and overcoat...

It's not salsa verde....it wasn't green lantern....and it's not a pickling accident...it's a rattlecan...
"We'll have to amend our report"...
"You'll stand by that"...
"I'll stand by you"....
:haha:

so, i think i may see about putting on that ps fender and door tomorrow and possible doing some painting on the rig also...

Ryoken - off to check tomorrows weather forecast...

oh, my review on squirting the Nason single stage...... it covers well, but it ain't no Glasurit, or even close to an Imron in the way it lays out... I'll update my report as I work with it a bit more, wetsanding it, overcoating, buffing, durability, etc as time goes on...

how it atomizes and "wets out" the panel... which is just as much a function of the gun specifics and viscosity as anything else.. but when you lay on a super high end paint, like glasurit high solids clear, you see how well it wets it's self out and goes flat/smooth...

Just trying to gauge the Nason...if you have trouble with it...I don't want to go near it...

nah, it seems fine.. just not that high end feel to it... maybe not resto/collision shop worthy, a bit more, industrial/macco worthy, I'll call it... :haha:

You speak of single stage or is that your opinion of the 2 stage also?

i've never shot the nason base/clear..

considering this was raw steel, piss zinc, 2 coats fill, and 2 wet paint coats.. wet to wet with flash times and no sanding/scuffing, it came out pretty reasonable... :haha:

yup, raw to paint in about 5 hours.... :haha: :pimp:

sundays plan...

rip hood off.. prep.. paint...

rip off fender and door...

do a bit of jamb trimming... install door and fender... put new door together reinstall hood...

Thats a full day for sure.

Looking forward to seeing the color on the truck.

How come you get to paint so fast? :doah:

Now THAT is funny. :haha:

Paul painted that door in only 8 hours (...if you don't count the 40 years of "prep" spent learning all the cool shortcuts and tricks of the trade)
