Welcome!

Looks good.

How is the wood bed holding up after being used and abused out in the weather for a while?

actually, amazingly perfect.. :haha: I've recoated the top once in the 20 months it's been on with a qrt of Rusto flat black... structurally, it's like the day I built it..

I'll be using it tomorrow for huge tarp loads of leaves... it's actually been very useful, and from across a parking lot, it looks pretty cool, you wouldn't realize it's lumber... the rig get's comments daily....

next summer I'm gonna go for the tubebed I think tho.. and I have a special project planned for Mutt for tomorrow if the weather cooporates..

Wood beds can be functional. Yours looks great.

Weren't wagons made mostly of wood forever? Do semi-truck trailers still use wooden planks?

still.....I look forward to seeing the tube concoction he comes up with...

the Mallard thanks ya! ;)

it's been a fantastic DD'er... so much more I'd like to do to it, hopefully I can get most of it done over the next couple yrs... ordering my headliner material this week for it.....

I hope Im not being a prick here but, Ive been gone awhile. About 8 months, give or take. One of the things Ive been dying to read about was a bad arse custom deluxe one of a kind Ryoken Original TUBE BED! I figured as long as Ive been away this bad boy would be knocked out already. :doah: Whats or whos holding up the tube work? How are we supposed to live vicariously through you with awesome tube fab looming... AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! :doah:

sorry, couldnt contain myself :haha:

all good... :haha:

the plan is for this upcoming summer hopefully.. this yr has been kind of a wash, didn't want to commit myself to a big project like that with possible serious health issues hanging over my head.. hopefully i'll be cleared come feb and can commit to this project when the weather gets decent..

Here's hoping that 2014 is a great year. This year has certainly had it's ups and downs...I've missed posting on the forum and working on my K5...and it looks like it will be May before I can do any of the heavier work like tailgate glass and stuff like that.
I hope you get cleared of whatever is going on with you and you can get back to the business of regular life without any burdens.
I'd like to get mine mostly finished this summer and get some good photos for the next Calendar...maybe you will get mostly finished with your K5 by the end of next summer?

the K5 is a LONG way from being done... I'm looking to do some good work on it in jan and feb, but it's a couple yr's off minimum on the financial end...

tho Mutt's tubebed is gonna suck up some serious funding too, I think it'll be a fun worthwhile project...

thanks Scott! :D

now I just gotta do the tube bed so something is actually built on it... :haha:

Lookin' good still...although you may want to fix that one broken roof lamp...apparently from what I gather from another thread, a man's sex life is no good without a full set of roof lights...:haha:
